Carnival Dream----not quite what I expected

We just finished a back to back to back cruise whirlwind tour out of Port Canaveral. I was very excited to be going on the Dream. I tend to prefer the smaller ships, mainly for the number of people on board. First, let me start by saying the crew was wonderful. Jamie is by far the best Cruise Director I have sailed with. She brought fun to everything. Roger is absolutely the best bartender on the ...

I learned so much from this Cruise Critic forum prior to our first cruise I would like to thank every one of you!! As I said this was our first cruise ever, we didn't know what to expect, but we did know that we would go into it with a great attitude and NOT expect perfection, but as you will read it nearly was that... perfection. We are a family of 4--me and my husband (married 21 years), our ...

My sister and I cruised Western Caribbean June 8th-14th. Our embarkation went flawless. After a LONG drive from SC we arrived at port, got our S&S and on board within 10 minutes. We chose to purchase FTTF and it was well worth every penny. Our cabin was ready by the time we took the stairs down to the 2nd deck. Our stateroom was crisp and clean. The ship itself was massive and beautiful. Easy to ...

My DH and I took this cruise as our honeymoon, and my sister, Bro-n-law, and 15 yr old niece also went. We arrived in Port Canaveral two days prior, to start our vaca early and to meet some great people we met on our rollcall and FB, staying at the Radisson. The hotel was extremely crowded, and I was really not impressed with the accomadation with the price we paid. I will say the shuttle service ...

My boyfriend and I were told that cruising is the best vacation. We'll be cut off from the rest of the world, that it is relaxing, and the food would be the best we've ever had. So we went on our first cruise ever with a group of friends who have been on MANY other cruises. The food was just a step above a nasty Applebees except for the Steakhouse which was delicious (get the cowboy steak and ...

Embarkation was great. Got on the ship very fast. Then the troubles started. Got to the buffet and all the food was gone! This was around 3:15. All the buffets close around 3:30 and they said, just wait..Food coming out. It never did. Oh and if you think you will get burgers, fries and pizza quick? Think again. The guy making the pizza can never keep up and you will wait. Sometimes up to 20 ...

We arrived in Florida the day before we left on the cruise and stayed at the Comfort Inn & Suites in Cocoa Beach. It was nice & just what we were looking for. We were able to leave our car there while on our cruise (no extra charge) & free shuttle service to the cruise port in the morning along with a complimentary breakfast & it was right across from the beach! Nothing fancy about this place, ...

This was our fifth cruise with Carnival. We took this trip very early in the 2013 Hurricane season with no storms during the trip. We used the shuttle service from the Orlando international Airport. we did not stay in a Hotel because we stayed with friends the night before the cruise. We had a Cloud 9 Spa Balcony on this trip. Our Stateroom was on deck 12 Right hand (Starboard) Side. There were ...

This was my fifth cruise. I traveled with my wife and 17 year old son. Two other couples were with us as well. We drove from NC on Tuesday before sailing on Saturday. We spent one night in Jacksonville and then 2 nights in Daytona Beach. We were hoping to work on our pre-cruise tan, but Tropical Storm Andrea had other ideas. We arrived in Port Canaveral on Friday and stayed at the La Quinta in ...
