This was a very last minute trip. The price was a very reasonable £400 ish for a superior balcony and as this was such a deal i was prepared to be easily pleased and was just hoping for a peaceful break with good food and sunshine. Embarkation was swift and non problematic and the cabin was large with all the usual storage. We usually sail with Princess or P and O, but had a very enjoyable week ...
My wife and I sailed on May 26th 2012 out of Malaga.
The cruise was excellent value for money (£300 balcony cabin thru US agent 4 weeks from departure) so Im finding it hard to justify the negatives within this review. However, they need to be aired as not everyone will have benefitted from such a low rate (especially UK cruisers who KEEP getting ripped-off by RCI).

Transatlantic Cruise Review and Port Guide, RCI's ADVENTURE OF THE SEAS, San Juan to Malaga, April 15-28, 2012
This was my first cruise on a Royal Caribbean ship, and it exceeded my expectations in every respect: ship, crew, activities, dining, price, and ports of call. I will describe each of them in that order.
SHIP: The Adventure of the Seas was built in 2001, which makes it almost ...
This was our 2nd Transatlantic as we enjoyed the 1st one so much. This time we booked Adventure it visited islands on both that we had not visited before.
We booked a flight inclusive deal. The flight to San Juan via Atlanta was long but went without a hitch. We were delayed getting to the hotel as the transfer bus was an hour late picking us up. We had one night in the Caribe Hilton which was ...
CHECK IN
Luggage was tagged by porters & stowed very quickly. On arrival at Diamond check in we were taken immediately by friendly receptionist. We proceeded to Pier Coordinator to enquire after buying a cabin upgrade & were directed to guest services on board who informed us that ship was full. Later in the cruise it became apparent that ship was nowhere near full. Later that night we were left ...
We arrived a day early and that was a good thing. We stayed at the Caribe Hilton in San Juan.
Check in at the cruise terminal was a breeze once they opened the doors at 1230pm. We were on the ship and in our cabin 20mins after that.
The ship itself is very nice and maintenance was on going throughout the cruise. Our room was a balcony room on deck 7 just at the end of the hump which is ...
I have cruised on this ship 3 times now in the past 6 years. The first two times were incredible - top notch entertainment, the staff was very friendly and catered to my every need. What I remember from those vacations on this same ship was that there was never a lack of entertainment - the food was incredible - and no expense was spared.
After taking a break for a few years and traveling ...
We travelled Malaga/Madrid/Miami/San Juan to join Adventure of the Seas. The flight from Madrid on Iberia was delayed 1 hour so we missed our connection in Miami. On arrival we were met American Airlines staff who had rebooked us on a later flight, however the transit at Miami was appalling, it took a full 2 hours to clear immigration, collect baggage, clear customs, hand the luggage on to ...
So this is our second time on AOS. Last time was about six years ago cruising out of San Juan to Curacao, St. Thomas, St. Martin and Aruba. This time out of San Juan to St. Croix, St. Martin, St. John's Antigua, St. Lucia and Barbados.
The ship is still in excellent shape. We had our first suite experience, (thanks to our parents!! Happy 50th Anniversary, Mom and Dad!) the Junior Suite, ...
Embarkation was strange -- you had to stand in line to check your luggage which took about a half hour. Then you had to get in another line for security clearance to get into the terminal -- another 15 minutes. Then you got your cruise cards, approved credit card, etc., which took only about 5 minutes. Unlike other cruise lines, they didn't take your picture at this time. Then up the ...
