We have taken 5 cruises on Celebrity and Holland America; this was our first cruise on Carnival. Overall, we had a great time.
As you might expect, the Carnival cruise cost about 70% of the price of cruising on the other lines, and the food/service/entertainment was about 70% of the caliber of the other cruises. The cabin was exactly the same as the other cruises. So -- you get what you pay ...

The biggest group on board were the Players Club (gamblers) who spent most of their time in the casino, buffet and the small outdoor area where they could smoke. Like many, we lower our expectations a bit when we use Carnival. Obviously, its a bit cheaper then most other cruise lines and you realize there must be a reason. This might be unfair. The Miracle is nicely compact and well laid-out. Even though its compact, I never feel too crowded.
