Like many, we lower our expectations a bit when we use Carnival. Obviously, its a bit cheaper then most other cruise lines and you realize there must be a reason. This might be unfair. The Miracle is nicely compact and well laid-out. Even though its compact, I never feel too crowded.

Embarkation: disappointing. We were going to buy the FTTF, but it was sold out. We got to the terminal at 945 and were happily surprised to hear we could check in at 10 and board before our official 1:30 check in time, probably around 12. Unfortunately, for reasons we never found, the last cruise guests were late departing and we didn't board until about 1:45.

Cabin: Fine, realizing this is an older ship. 7th floor balcony. Only complaint is only 1 electrical outlet. Yes, one! We had also reserved the balcony next door and asked to have the partition removed. It took 2 requests and then the job was not done correctly - they didn't secure it open - it was swinging freely. However, after request 3 they fixed it.
