First time and last going on the QM2

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Queen Mary 2 (QM2)

First Time Cruiser • Age 60s

If you have a Disability like me with wearing an Air-Cast Boot and partly blind with a cane the staff won't help you and not even at the terminal in Brooklyn, NY. This was for embarkation and I was alone traveling. The cabin was very nice and the Cabin boy I had was wonderful. He made sure everything was well stocked. The Britannia Restaurant is very nice and my dinner companiens are ...

Just a little history ,this was our 41st Cruise and our 3 rd on The QM2 , we've cruised all the major Cruise lines ,from inside cabins to Owners suites ,So we pretty much know what to expect . We choose this cruise because it seemed like a good value and according to all the printed material we viewed online ,they were staying to 10 PM on 2 of our favorite Islands , St Maarten and Barbados . Frequent quote from staff: “this is it and nothing can be done”

My partner and I are frequent cruisers - 6 in 12 months including Regent (1), Celebrity (2), Viking River (2) and Oceania (1 and done!) We specifically chose the Barcelona to Miami transatlantic crossing for its more numerous stops (6) and especially those in Canary Islands. The second night on board, we were informed by captain that due to weather system they had been monitoring for days ...

A huge disappointment

Review for a Caribbean - All Cruise on Regatta

The employees at Oceania Cruises with the highest salaries must certainly be those paid to create the beautiful brochures which describe in detail the cruises and shore excursions that one will experience aboard their ships. They are masters at selling travelers a vacation that apparently that is far different than the one you will actually experience. We were so very excited to spend our ...

Disappointing Experience

Review for a Caribbean - All Cruise on Regatta

We chose this cruise based on the cruise line’s reputation and itinerary. This was our first Oceania cruise and it left a bad taste. The cruise was scheduled to be at sea for three out of ten days. On the first day at sea, we were told that the ship would need to make an emergency stop to tender an ill passenger to shore. We were to have another day at sea and the captain indicated that we ...

EXTREMELY BORING CRUISE!!

Review for a South America Cruise on Sirena

We have been on many Oceania cruises and loved them all. We selected this 33 day cruise that started in Buenos Aires and ended in Miami, primarily because my husband wanted to experience the Amazon. The ship is almost exactly like the other three smaller Oceania ships and the staff were really attentive and friendly. I didn't feel that way with the Officers. When I completed my mid-cruise ...

Mediocre at best

Review for a Caribbean - All Cruise on Star Breeze

I chose this cruise based on my previous experience with Windstar (The Windstar). I was hoping to have the same or similar experience but quite honestly was disappointed. Perhaps I am spoiled being from the Northeast of the US where great food is common place and easily obtained. The food on the Starbreeze never stood out in a positive way in my mind. This particular cruise was more a ...

After having been on passenger ships dating back to the Queen Elizabeth and Queen Mary as a child and being on Ships from the the Emerald Seas, The Nordic Prince in the the 70's to the evolutionary changes in cruising today, I am familiar with origins and changes in the industry and appreciate its revolution. Most recently, we have sailed on both Princess and Celebrity with accommodations ...

WE chose this cruise to transit the Panama Canal Sirena Cruise (Oceania Cruises) We wanted to go through the Panama Canal so we got our agent to book a cruise that would do that and that would allow us to join another cruise from Ushuaia a few days after completing the first Cruise. We arrived in Miami and joined the ship Sirena having booked a vista suite which turned out to be marvellous ...

First and last-A cruise line with no real identity

Review for a Caribbean - All Cruise on Riviera

My wife and I have cruised over 80 times in the last 10 years. Typically on Royal Caribbean-Diamond Plus; NCL-Platinum Latitudes; Celebrity and Princess. All have pluses and minuses, but we are not new to cruising. Lately, we have cruised primarily NCL, due to knowledge of the staff and captains on the various ships. We decided to try the upscale Oceania cruise line for a trip to Tahiti this ...
