Beautiful Ship, but...

Review for a Mexican Riviera Cruise on Norwegian Bliss

We recently returned from our Norwegian Bliss cruise to the Mexican Rivera. These are our thoughts: 1. Embarkation was extremely efficient and quick. 2. Be prepared to wait for the elevators, which aren't conveniently located if you are mid-ship. 3. By prepared to pay for things like: race car driving, laser tag, bowling, gelato, coco's, cabaret, etc. 4. The food in Savor and ...

Super-sized, but not super appealing

The ship is huge!! With the exception of a few bright spots, it was very impersonal. I might go again, but my expectations will be much lower!! The shows were amazing! Jersey Boys and Six were really great productions and very worthy of our time. Comedy shows were okay. There were two comedians that were fabulous, unfortunately, one was so poor, the quality of the show suffered. (Felt like ...

Great ship, not so great food

I went on this cruise with my boyfriend and his family. Staff were great, and overall very attentive. The food was generally not good. The best food was at the buffet. While staff at the restaurants were very accommodating, the food did not live up to our expectations for being on a "luxury" cruise. Service at the restaurants that required an upcharge was mediocre at best. Staterooms were modern ...

This cruise convinced me that sailing with NCL is NOT for me.

I chose to sail on the NCL Bliss because it is Norwegian's newest, largest ship. Usually, newer means better. But the design of this ship and the crew of the Bliss proved they are truly "not ready for prime time." The NCL Bliss is indeed a beautiful ship. MANY facets of the ship were fantastic, from the relaxing observation lounge on deck 15 to the overall ship decor, which is chic and ...

Could be better

The ship is beautiful the rooms are beautiful. Our state room steward took great care of us. Embarkation was ridiculous we were supposed to be there at 9:30 and couldn’t board the ship until 12:30 very antiquated. The three main dining room‘s left a lot to be desired. The service was horrible and the food was not so great. One night we waited so long we got up and left before our food was ...

NCL Bliss

My younger son turns 13 in October 2019 and wanted to go to the Splash Academy one last time before he is "too old" as his birthday gift. So, we booked this cruise when we were on NCL Escape in November 2018. Again, we learned from the same mistake, never booked our cruise too early as NCL will drop their price dramatically as they cannot sell their rooms during the regular periods of the year. ...

Im a cruise lover... been on about 8 cruises and this is my second time on NCL.. last NCL before this one was in 2016 and I could really really really see feel and taste their departure from elegance and comfort to mediocrity... Crowded as all heck!! They had the 3rd and 4th passenger sail free promotion going on and it absolutely packed that ship to the brim. Every show sold out by day two, ...

A very big boat

I enjoyed certain aspects of the boat but I will definitely say that people should understand that the boat is huge and there are a ton of people going on vacation with you. Almost everywhere you go there will be a crowd. The service at the specialty restaurants was probably my favorite experience. Other smaller eateries and smaller areas were way too crowded. I would recommend taking one of ...

Worth the money??

This was my first time traveling on NCL, NOT my first time cruising though. I take at least one cruise a year. I was excited about trying NCL but was let down. I expected more from all the great reviews that raved about the fine dining-I did participate in the specialty dining program and went to almost all of the special dinning restaurants on board but didn’t feel that most were worth the extra ...

Beautiful ship

We chose this cruise for our sisters cruise because the port and sail date fit our needs. Ship was beautiful and large. Embarkation was easy and fast, onboard by 11:15am. Disembarkation was equally easy. Some of the staff were cranky and seemed tired. Elevators were over crowded but it was a good excuse to take the stairs for extra calories burned. Specialty restaurants were very good but ...
