Another great voyage on Seabourn, but….

Review for a World Cruise Cruise on Seabourn Sojourn

We joined the Sojourn in LA and disembarked in Taipei at the end of the second segment of the World Cruise 72 days later. Our last trip on the Sojourn had been the last two segments of the 2023 World Cruise from the Seychelles to Barcelona, and we now have about 200 days with Seabourn. We rated the 2023 voyage overall a 9.5/10. This years we would rate an 8.5+ to 9/10, still excellent. Why lower? ...

Review of Viking Sky 2023/24 World Cruise. For 4 months per year my wife and I have been avid cruisers. Firstly 18 with Azamara, but since their sad decline we switched to Viking. Now with 8 completed, and enjoyed, it was sad to see how far Viking standards have fallen. We found this on our recent segmented 2 legs on this world cruise. This was after we were initially notified that we were ...

A very nice cruise even with the itinerary changes.

Review for a Transpacific Cruise on Insignia

This was originally the first segment of an around the world cruise. There were a couple of Itinerary changes prior to departure due to countries not allowing travel. We were disappointed that we would finish the segment in Papeete vs. continuing on to Auckland. New Zealand, Fiji, American Samoa, along with some ports in French Polynesia were cancelled. Oceania added two days in San Francisco and ...

We had been quite isolated and without any of our favorite pastimes of cruising, fine dining, socializing (did I mention cruising?) for over 2 years. Like many cruisers, we were hesitant to cruise again with so many concerns and changes to our past 11 cruises. We found this cruise (second leg of RTW) booked and paid in full two weeks in advance-Gulp! Oceania is our favorite line and Regatta ...

Has Oceania reduced staff levels

This is cruise 18 with Oceania on all ships but Serena. I am not sure if i have been unlucky but the service level was less than “normal”. For example at the Sunday brunch my wife and i finished before any staff member asked us if we wanted water, juice or anything else except cocktails. At dinner in the dining room the opposite, cant find a drink waiter and have to ask. It seems there is a staff ...

Ports of call were good - not excellent! Why stop at locations that have nothing to offer? An example woud be Hilo, Hawaii. The destination personnel were not well trained. Priority guests were not treated like priorities! In most situations - waitlist was an imaginary item. Basically I would say the ship personnel were very friendly and dedicated employees. Upper management needs to ...

White glove service, staff who care about your personal preferences, accurate assistance, and a crew who genuinely look out for your comfort and safety to deliver a relaxing and fulfilling journey. Congratulations to Cunard for preserving their traditions and not bending to trendy expectations. Unwinding is not the norm for most cruise experiences yet I managed to read, recollect, reflect and ...

Not As Good As I Expected

We sailed on a segment of the Queen Victoria's world cruise from Los Angeles to Sydney. In many small ways this was a disappointing experience. For example: This was the only cruise where we were not welcomed on board with a glass of Champaign or given a bag to use for purchases. Although the food was good, it was difficult to find out about alternative items on the menu and ordering them ...

We had been on the Odyssey in 2011 for cruise from Athens to Istanbul on Veranda 2 level. This time we asked for Veranda 2 but got room 503 Veranda 1. Very noisy at 4:30am when the anchor dropped since it was a floor or two below us. We wanted a balcony because we love eating on the deck. We had a balcony but it was only 1/4 glass and the rest metal as we were the first balcony. It got covered in ...

Review for a Australia & New Zealand Cruise on Silver Whisper

When we boarded at Los Angeles it was with a little trepidation following our November 2012 cruise with Seabourn where we had encountered such poor food and service aboard Seabourn Sojourn. We need not have worried. Silver Whisper was as close to perfection as I think it is possible to get and, believe me, after 36 years of cruising on a whole variety of cruise lines, I think I can comment fairly, ...
