The Good The Bad And Why

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Riviera

We chose this cruise as we always do based on the excursions but in this case, my husband contracted COVID on the ship so this review will address the first few days of our trip pre-sickness, their COVID protocol and what benefits we were able to receive from this very expensive (around 30 grand) trip. We went with the penthouse suite which is very pretty but is technically just an over-sized ...

Pros: Amazing crew, who were attentive, friendly and professional. Less people so quick embarkation/disembarkation. Beautiful cabin: Marble bathroom with walk-in shower, very comfortable bed, luxury bath products, fridge filled with drinks, bottled water in stateroom, lots of entertainment on TV Our cabin steward was one of the best we've ever had. Cabin was spotless, 2x daily turn ...

Overpriced and Underwhelmed

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Riviera

My friend and I are very experienced cruisers, but this was a first time with Oceania (and it will be the last time)! We did 2 back-to-back cruises and yes, the decor is beautiful, but too many problems to make it worthwhile. In no particular order, some of the issues we encountered were: 1. Officers/management invisible except for Captain's cocktail party. 2. Too many 'supervisors' ...

British Isles, room for improvement

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Sirena

This was our 10th cruise with this line, and the least enjoyable. Transport from LHR to Southampton was included, and troubles started there. We were informed there was not enough room on the bus, and some would need to wait for an hour or more, after the first bus departed, for the next trip. Turns out there were many vacant seats on the bus. The ship was, we were told, about 75% occupied. ...

Disappointing cruise - good itinerary but lacking in some aspects.....

Review for a World Cruise Cruise on Sirena

Like many others we had a FCC to use to make up for the loss of our cruise in 2020. We choose this cruise as it was a round trip from Southampton for 10 nights. Normally we travel in July/August but other commitments meant we took this trip which had an interesting itinerary, some ports we had previously visited, others were new. We could not fault the cleanliness of the ship, our stateroom - ...

Noticeable decline in overall experience

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Marina

This was our third Oceania cruise in 4 years. The first two (on Riviera and Serina) were great in terms of cuisine and service. This cruise on Marina was much less satisfactory. The cabin (PH1) was as expected - plenty of room, well serviced and well stocked. The cuisine and service were still good, but not at the same level as before. The food choices at both terrace buffet and the ...

Not worth the extra cost

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Marina

This was my husband's and my 20th cruise. We decided to try Oceania because we heard the food and overall experience was worth the extra cost over the mainstream lines. Here are things that I think were better on Oceania:(1) the food in general. It was served individually even at the buffet and it was warm and of higher quality than all the other cruises we have been on. One visit to each of ...

Just average, no longer the exceptional gem in the cruise industry.

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Marina

Initially I chose this cruise for two reasons, the itinerary around the Baltic and the 3 day stay in St. Petersburg. Additionally having been on two prior cruises with Oceania I was once again attracted to the cuisine as well as the level of service offered in concierge and generally throughout the ship. I was very disappointed in the food this time ( with a couple of exceptions in the speciality ...

The cruise was good....

We were booked in a concierge level cabin and it was kind of a disappointment. The bathroom was quite small and was tight on storage. Our cabin steward was not the friendliest and hardly spoke to us. The only benefit we had of the concierge level was the use of laundry facilities. Internet was sketchy much of the time and we had even purchased a $299 internet package. We found a lot of the staff ...

Husband's Big 80 birthday - chose Oceania as previous experience on Riviera was very good. Love our food. Very nice itinerary, so we thought, out of Southampton finishing up in Barcelona. Ship - very similar to Riviera. Beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. We had Penthouse Suite which was excellent. Very good design. Everything worked except WiFi which was dreadful and you could only ...
