Sailed from Tilbury for 2 day staycation 4 adults plus 22 month old toddler
We all provided proof of double vaccine and paid £72 for little one to have test by the company Disney use. Arrived at Tilbury with 2.15 embarkation slot. Had the Disney app already downloaded so had everything organised. Waited in line for half hour then told we all need another lateral flow test. Even the little one ...
We chose this cruise because we wanted to experience Europe and we were planning on spending extra time in Sweden which was its final destination. We started in London and spent an extra day there enjoying the sites. Once the cruise started we had many wonderful shore excursions and a couple of trips that could have been better(Copenhagen and Helsinki) and that was because of the guides. It was ...
Silver Wind is in for a full refit in twelve months time. This is probably twelve months too late.
Looking tired, the ship is saved by its excellent crew. There was nothing intrinsically wrong with the cruise, probably still a good 4.5 star experience. But that is not how Silverseas is marketed. Fellow travellers were discussing looking elsewhere.
Food was good but not exceptional. ...
My husband has been wanting to take a cruise around the British Isles. I liked the itinerary of this one and it fit into our summer schedule.
I had thought that the Silver Wind had been refurbished recently, so was surprised that nothing had been done since 2008, ten years! The ship was definitely shabby, and not in a chic way. The decor was very dated, the carpeting in the public corridors ...
Chose from Tower Bridge so no flying. Excellent enbarkation but waiting staff organisation disorganised for first few days. When we left at 6am no hot drinks available. 3 days into the 14days the restaurant had run out of Pouilly Fume, Sauvignon blanc and Pinot Grigrio.
Plenty of other wines but not to our taste, luckilly plenty of champers. Cabin staff excellent and cabins good. Ship seems a ...
It would be easy to start by simply saying we were over sold by a cruise consultant who disappeared 3 months before our Cruise ... It would also be easy to argue we are inexperienced , however thats far from the truth ... but the whole experience by both comparison , experience and expectation was underwhelming ... Yes the ports were terrific , and the experience albeit unique were difficult . ...
My husband booked this cruise as a surprise based on the ports of call and the fact that this cruise line promoted itself as having ultra luxury ships. We expected Four Seasons/Oberoi hotel service, food, treatment - we were expecting ultra luxury.
We were disappointed even prior to boarding. Whilst our luggage had been taken very promptly by the porters, we were told that we could just roll ...
Our main gripe on our second time on this wonderful ship is the dining room experience.
It has gone from the wow factor to quite honestly second rate canteen style fayre.
The menus were unimaginative and boring the vegetables were also boring and unimaginative (unlike last Year..
The windjammer offered us better food, though i was let down with 1 or 2 incompetent chefs who didn't ...
We decided to brave a trip to Europe with our 2 small children in tow ages 1 and 3. There was absolutely no way we were going to do this without getting the largest room on the ship so that we could have some sort of sanity. We booked the Penthouse Suite and amazing it was. Because of the fact that we had two small children with us we ate almost every breakfast, lunch, and dinner in the dining ...
