This was my 58th cruise and 13th RCCL cruise and 2nd cruise on Navigator ( also did last April) both times in a Grand Suite. We flew in from Dallas to Houston/hobby the night before and stayed at the Doubletree Hobby which is a very nice hotel with a decent restaurant and nice bar/lounge. Getting on the ship was ok waited about 20 mins to get through security ( arrived at 11:45) and needed ...

Arrived at Bush Int'l in Houston and had reserved a car to take us to the port. We didn't want to wait for a bus to fill up to get going. We used ExecuCar and it was as expected. Getting to the cruise terminal once you are in the port area is a big pain - a lot of traffic and not very organized. I don't think we will bother with this port again (after the ease of Fort Lauderdale and Miami ...

Nice Ship, Nice Crew

This was my 4th cruise on the Navigator, my 13th cruise with RCCL ships, and my 1st cruise as a Diamond member. Overall this was a pleasant cruise, a big improvement over last year. The ship was clean and the crew was great. We had a balcony cabin on the hump, Deck 8. Great location near the stairs and elevators. EMBARKATION What a cluster. Terminal 2 is woefully inadequate due to ...

This was my 4 trip on Royal, 1st on Navigator of the Seas. Over all I was disappointed in the trip. Here are a few things that we noticed: We are early risers and like to go to the upper decks to have coffee and watch the sun rise. But there is no coffee service on the liddo deck until 7 o'clock and then you have to go all the way thru windjammer to get the coffee. So if you want coffee ...

My girlfriend and I had reservations across from the Johnson Space center at the Microtel hotel, some 40mins away from the port. A room there seemed a better cost effective option than anything on the island. So on Saturday April 18, we drove down from Arkansas. The hotel was adequate for our overnight needs, and had no vacancies. Day 1, Sunday, Departing Galveston, TX. : We ate breakfast at ...

We have cruised out of Galveston many times and have always been very pleased with the ease of embarkation. This cruise was no different. Easy embarkation as well as disembarkation. This was our first cruise on the NOS, but have sailed on sister ship Voyager OS. We love the design of the ship. Easy to get around. Promenade was always fun to stroll through and people watch. Can't say enough ...

We had a wonderful time!

I have to say, this was our best cruise ever. I think the main reason we had such a good time is due to planning, eliminating the things we knew we didn't like and slowing down to enjoy ourselves. We were a little concerned at first because we were detained getting on the ship due to norovirus but once they let us on everything seemed to be fine. There was no line at the port when we got ...

Beautiful Ship but Staff need Help

The Navigator of the Seas is a beautiful ship. There were a few spots showing age, like the peeling paint on the balcony, but generally, the ship was very well maintained throughout. We were met at the Houston airport with a bus that accommodated the wheelchair. The driver was very knowledgeable about the lift, tie down process, and was super friendly. After a drive to Galveston, we were ...

This was my first cruise, so I don't have a point of comparison other than what I have read here. But my overall impression was good. Galveston is unfortunately pretty far from the nearest airport, so if you are not driving in, you will have to work out how to get to port. We ended up flying into Bush a day early. We stayed the night at the Country Inn and Suites by Carlson. It has a shuttle from ...

RCCL's Navigator has something for everyone! The activities are plentiful and non-stop, with lots of choices! We loved the sports deck, the music trivia, the ice skating show, karaoke and the Beatlemania performance! We enjoyed the poolside band, "Ridden Wave" and the games. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The main dining room was very good, with great service(love Errol & Andre). ...
