We chose this cruise since we wanted to visit the Scandinavian countries. It was our first Viking experience and it met all of our expectations. The service was outstanding and the food was extremely good in all the restaurant facilities. Ample activities were offered on board ship. The entertainment was very enjoyable. The excursions were extremely organized. The entire trip was a very delightful ...
We had been looking forward to seeing St. Petersburg but understood why that stop had to be changed, of course, as well as Finland and Estonia. However the replacement stops were mostly unremarkable.
We still enjoyed the trip due to the excellent staff who were always kind and friendly making each day a joy. The entertainment was awesome! And the food was fantastic. We also very much ...
Our first cruise on Viking Ocean and the Viking Star did not disappoint. A beautiful ship and the staff was excellent. BRINSLEY as cruise director did a great job and was very organized. The guest lecturers were very good and We enjoyed the fact that if we missed the real time lecture, we could view it later in our room. All the public areas were beautifully decorated and cozy. Loved tea at ...
We choose this Viking Cruise (not river cruise) to see how Viking does compared to other cruise lines (particularly Regent, Oceania, Celebrity). Viking is getting (three years in a row) some very high marks in the "Cruising" industry.
We thoroughly enjoyed our Viking experience but not necessariy "The Best".........
We loved not seeing the photography, casino, the art autions and liked the ...
We did 4 previous Viking cruises. The Into the Midnight Sun last year was outstanding. By that standard, this cruise was very good. The ships staff were excellent. The food and service were very good but not as excellent as the previous cruise. The train. Trip to Berlin was a bad experience, the train trip was too long in a coach with no air conditioning and no window curtains. The temperature was ...
On our first cruise aboard the Viking Star, we were totally impressed with this vessel. Beautiful lines; roomy cabins; happy, helpful staff; fabulous foods; great entertainment; soothing spa, etc. We took the Viking Star a second time when it cruised the Caribbean, simply because we were in love with the ship and, since we have been to the Caribbean over and over again, this time we took ...
Great value for an itinerary that covered several areas that we had not visited before. The offer of two guests for one fare with free air was too great a temptation. The trip was excellent except for somewhat rough seas for a couple of days. It could have been a lot worse!
The excursions were well planned, and for the most part were interesting and informative.
The service on the ship ...
We thoroughly enjoyed a two week Baltic cruise a year ago on the Star's virtually identical sister ship the Viking Sea, but were mildly disappointed on this repositioning cruise.
Perhaps Viking is having some challenges keeping up with their rapid expansion. Perhaps nothing's quite as good the second time, even Viking's new Ocean Ships. Perhaps we shouldn't expect as much on a repositioning ...
I absolutely loved the experience and everyone that worked to make my time enjoyable. From the moment we were greeted at the airport to how quick and painless the embarkation was. Once inside, the ship was breath taking and beautiful. The cabin and bath were fantastic, and our luggage arrived about 5 minutes after we did, with plenty of room for storage of our things. The Dining was simply over ...
I chose this cruise because I have always wanted to go to Norway and to Barcelona so this turned out to be a cruise where I could do both. I also love England and was excited about going to two ports where I have never been before. I was especially excited about going to Falmouth (this was the most important port for me), which was unfortunately cancelled due to weather. The ship was beautiful ...
