The idea of taking the cruise was to visit Amsterdam beforehand and cruise along Norway villages were the two countries that we wanted to visit for the longest time. We were disappointed with how old the ship was, everything is outdated. The $32 fee a day for a couple is for room cleaning but the toilet area ALWAYS smells like urine.

The staff that are working on the Norwegian Dawn are fantastic.
But the organization of getting on and off the ship is terrible. Norwegian has complicated getting on the ship for the first time to new horizons. Multiple waiting areas for no apparent reason. Worst we have ever seen.

The Jewel is a pretty ship, especially the atrium and the glass elevators. Refurbished in 2017, it is still in good condition. Our cabin, 1540 was a junior suite. This cruise was awesome!
We ended our vacation at houseboat Tante Piet in Amsterdam for three nights. Great location and our host was fabulous! Nice to stay with the local folks.
Disembarkation and Embarkation were a breeze!
The ship is in need of a refurb but but otherwise in good shape. Beds are so so comfy.
The crew were all fantastic as usual!

We chose this cruise due to the variety of the intinerary. We had never sailed on Norwegian, but have had good experiences with lines as diverse as Carnival and Silversea. This was my fifth cruise and the oldest and smallest ship I’ve been on. It was an excellent experience. The Dawn is still very well-maintained and didn’t feel dirty or old in the slightest.
We reportedly had 1400 passengers onboard, so 60% capacity.
