I'm 66 and retired and I don't usually cruise during school holidays for obvious reasons but this year choose the Noordam in early January around New Zealand and with the hope that not many kids would be on board. There weren't many and they were mostly well behaved. Not like some cruises lines that encourage a few too many of them.
I traveled alone and thoroughly enjoyed myself on this ...
We sailed on the Noordam with our two teenagers leaving Sydney on the 4th January. It was spectacular leaving from White Bay as the ship had to wait for the tide to drop; so we could sail under the Sydney Harbour Bridge. It was amazing to sail past the iconic Opera house and coastline.
The boarding process was very quick, no wait time and staff were friendly and welcoming. We had a balcony ...
We chose this cruise as it fitted in with our annual company closedown in January each year, when we must take most of our annual holiday leave. The price was great for this peak holiday time in Australia. Both the embarkation and disembarkation processes ran extremely well, no queues
All food was fresh and good quality, with the dining room providing gourmet meals each night. We initially ...
We like the size of the ship as well as the ports. We were pleased with our choice. We had a balcony room that gave us some added space. The rooms are not overly fancy, but comfortable. The ship is beginning to show some wear and tear but overall, in good shape.
Food was plentiful and we really enjoyed the salad bar where you could have your salad made to order. Room service for ...
My wife chose this cruise as it went over the Christmas break and went to the South Pacific. We are a family of 5 and booked 2 rooms. A Verandah Room and an inside Room both on Deck 6.
After a slow start in the kids room having a double bed and the no food available for a few hours we got into exploring. The ship is mid sized and while it has around 1800 passengers we didnt ever not get a table ...
we wanted to see Australia and New Zealand and also have some cruise days.
We read a review The Noordam is a germ machine. It is true. My wife got a cold the firs day of the cruise and the last day. I got a flu right in the middle of the trip. I think that the Noordam tries to minimize this and warns folks to use the hand sanitizer, etc. But there were a number of ill guests.
The staff ...
Travelling with Qantas from ATL, I flew to LAX then on to SYD for arrival same day as sailing. This was a 29 day collector's voyage travelling to Fiji, New Caledonia, Vanuatu, other So Pacific Islands, Australia and New Zealand. I was a solo cruiser taking my longest voyage to date and the furthest from home. I had booked the transfer to the ship. Upon arrival, I did not find the HAL ...
This was my celebration cruise for my retirement and it was the perfect way to celebrate! We were upgraded to a Neptune Suite upon embarkation and everything from there was amazing! The food was excellent and, even though we ran into some bad weather along the way, the captain did a great job of keeping us out of the worst of it.
Plenty to do during time at sea and the islands we visited ...
This is our third cruise with Holland Cruise line. We have enjoyed all of them but a little disappointed this time because we had to miss two ports that we were looking forward to visiting. The ship had "Mechanical issues" and we had to remain in Napier overnight. It was very stressful because it was first announced that the ship had problems but that we would be underway soon and that we would ...
Bucket list cruise including Australia and New Zealand. We arrived in Sydney a week early so we could explore a bit of Australia before the cruise and we truly enjoyed every day. We spent most of our time in Sydney, but did take a train to The Blue Mountains to visit friends who live in that beautiful area. Our hotel was on Darling Harbour (PARKROYAL Darling Harbour....Club room was quite nice ...
