Overall cruise was ok. like the smaller ship, easy to get a table at any of the restuarants. didn't like so many nights that you had to wear a coat. no shorts or jeans after 6:00 in bar was a pain.
Tried to be an "above scale" atmosphere which i think hurt the ability to relax after a busy day. no opportunity to just hang out when back from excursions, needed to get cleaned up and get a ...
We were apprehensive about cruising - mainly because of the crowds found on the larger ships. My husband uses a wheelchair and the idea of navigating through crowds was daunting. However, the size of this ship was just perfect for us, as we had discovered on an earlier SilverSea cruise to Alaska. The staff were all very helpful and the accessibility for a power wheelchair user was very good ...
We did an Alaska cruise with Silversea two years ago and really liked the ship and the cruise line, so we went with Silversea again when looking for a Baltic cruise. We were generally satisfied, though there were a few things we would like to see done differently. First, they scheduled the Captain's welcome and the first enrichment lecture during the initial sailout from Stockholm. We didn't ...
The Silver Whisper is a small luxury ship. It is very well-maintained and kept spotless by the crew. The dining was particularly noteworthy. One of our meals in the main dining room was regarded by a group of experienced travelers as one of the best meals we have had anywhere in the world, and our meals in La Terazza featured pasta that rivals that found anywhere. The sommelier was ...
There were so may high spots and the overall experience was excellent, such a special ambiance and the right balance of genuine friendliness and professionalism which made for a fabulous holiday.
We are not normally cruisers, I am 54 and have not cruised since my teens (my parents were avid cruisers). My partner gets seasick, even on a padello, and we are both the sort that likes to get ...
First time crusier, wonderful experience! We had a group of 6 from 11-78, accommodated all our needs. Staff couldn't have been nicer! Was a little concerned about the younger passengers in our group but we spent so much time off the ship touring the cities that they were happy to come home to a friendly staff, wonderful food and cozy rooms. We had ship credits and enjoyed the spa, wonderful ...
we wanted to experience a smaller ship which promised more in terms of cabin space and personal attention and we were not disappointed.Cabin(veranda deck 6 midships)was spacious and comfortable and was keep very clean and well serviced.Four restaurants all of a high standard of courteous service and good food but the standout has to be the Champagne Restaurant, which, although one paid an additional ...
Things we liked:
---Small ship with only about 250-300 people on board. Could get closer into the city than other larger ships.
---Our cabin was a Veranda Suite although I don't know which level Veranda Suite. Deck 6-mid ship, a perfect location. Cabin had a queen sized bed with luxury linens and a choice of pillows, large fluffy towels in the bathroom. Bathroom has double sinks, a shower ...
We did the Baltic and on to Southampton on Whisper and enjoyed our first experience with Silversea, although the food was all very Italian based, which can become tiresome. We found Seabourn to have a greater selection on their menus and wines were also a little better class.
Having also completed over 70 days cruising with Seabourn the comparison was interesting to say the least.
Port ...
Silver Whisper Voyage 4414, Stockholm to Copenhagen, 20 June 2014.
The entire eight days was fantastic and my wife and I will definitely will travel with Silversea again.
The overall cost of some A$10,600 (for a Verandah Suite) when you break it down, represents excellent value for money.
A 32 Sq Mt. suite, with full bathroom and terrace with floor to ceiling sliding doors, all gourmet meals on ...
