We chose to cruise with Viking because friends and relatives had raved about their cruises with the company. It was excellent advice! We decided to go on the Viking Homelands cruise because I had always wanted to visit Scandinavia, and this cruise had shore excursions in Sweden, the Aland Islands of Finland, Denmark, and Norway, so it fit what I was looking for. I could not have been happier that ...
We chose this cruise because it was a 16 day cruise with only 1 full day at sea. There was a wide-range of excursions, however, most of the included ones required very little activity, so we did choose several more active options, bike rides, zodiac boats and hikes. As first time Viking cruisers we were not as prepared as we needed to be for dinners, as you could not wear jeans (not matter how ...
Loved the ship, the itinerary, the staff, the stateroom but did not like the fellow passengers. They were old, rude, selfish, and slow. For the money we paid we should have not felt judged - but since we were one of the youngest couples celebrating our 25 year anniversary- we were given the side eye most of the cruise - we made the most of it but the entertainment and pace and flow of the cruise ...
Having done our first Viking River Cruise and been very happy with the experience, we took our first Viking ocean cruise along the Scandinavian coast.
As with the river cruise, housekeeping and restaurant personnel were exceptionally efficient and nice. Also as before, the food was good and abundant. We were very happy with our room -- it was quiet, and the room temperature control worked ...
We were invited to join friends on this cruise. It was our first Viking cruise; their third. It was wonderful! The staff was superb! The one downfall was the excursion in Berlin. Our choice was “Berlin Your Way” and Checkpoint Charlie”. This was not done well, and was not the caliber of Viking. It was unorganized once we got to Berlin, and remained that way the entire day. The cost of Checkpoint ...
I chose this cruise to learn about Scandinavia through the convenience and luxury of a cruise. Service on the Mars was excellent ; our room was always spotless, and restaurant servers were very attentive. I appreciated the way Viking smoothly handled the transfers to and from the airport, that saved a lot of stress.
The dining was very good with enough options to keep things interesting. We ...
We chose this cruise after having to cancel a special Norway trip in 2020. We have been on several Viking River Cruises that we enjoyed and looked forward to trying the smaller ocean cruise ships.
The ship was beautiful and everything we expected after the river cruises. Clean, elegant and yet not overwhelming. The cabin and balcony were good while a little small (only one person can walk ...
We always wanted to visit the Scandinavian countries. We had trip planned before Covid shut everything down. All the stops were very interesting but our favorites were Stockholm and Oslo. We loved everything about Norway except the rain. Actually that wasn’t all that bad. Service on Viking was excellent and the tours were all great. The staff on the ship could not have been better. We’ve been on ...
I did the Viking Homelands cruise with a pre-extension in Stockholm and a post-extension in Iceland. The Viking Mars was a beautiful ship with caring staff and wonderful food. The onboard experience was excellent with guest lecturers and informative port talks. The onboard entertainment was very good too. Viking is an all adults cruise line.
My cabin was on deck 3 and was very comfortable. The ...
Our friends recommended Viking and this particular trip to us. We’d been interested in a Viking River Cruise but booked this first. We will be booking with Viking again because in my opinion, no cruise line can compare-Viking really does dot all the ‘i’s and cross all of the ‘t’s. The ship is immaculate, the restaurants are all delicious, the excursions were top notch and all were handled with top ...
