The Silver Whisper is a small luxury ship. It is very well-maintained and kept spotless by the crew. The dining was particularly noteworthy. One of our meals in the main dining room was regarded by a group of experienced travelers as one of the best meals we have had anywhere in the world, and our meals in La Terazza featured pasta that rivals that found anywhere. The sommelier was knowledgeable, helpful, and personable.
Our butler and maid were both exceptionally friendly and professional. If I have a complaint it is that the service in the bar, lounge, and pool deck was inconsistent. Sometimes it was perfect--fast and friendly--but other times you waited a bit to be served. It seemed to depend on which server was on duty. Another small quibble is that the liquor selection is a notch below that found on other cruise lines (mid-shelf rather than top shelf--for example, Tanqueray gin, but not Hendricks).
For such a small ship the entertainment was surprisingly good.
Overall I highly recommend this cruise.
We were initially concerned about not having a balcony suite, but the Vista Suite was surprisingly spacious and very well-appointed. We did not miss having a balcony in the Baltic. The only drawback is that even though the dining room is also on deck 4, you need to go up to deck 5 and back down to access the dining room.
