Athens to Venice on Silversea, first time for loyal Seabourn sailors

We chose this cruise purely for the itinerary and the dates. Seabourn was not available for what we needed. At first we thought we were impressed with the food, but the longer we travelled, we discovered that the menus in the speciality restaurants were disappointing. The Japanese and French themed one (the latter costing $120 per couple extra) were neither Japanese nor French in culture, nor ...

I choose this cruise because of the itinerary. Friends also wanted to go and had used Silversea before. The service and food were outstanding. Our cabin was roomy and the closet was huge! Quite a nice surprise. I felt the rom and ship could have been more updated. The ship did not pop with color. Very muted in beige and rusts. Just my opinion. The only negatives: the tours start very ...

Nice trip with unforeseen problems

We liked the itinerary. We liked that the ship was new.The breakfasts were good but with no "assigned" waiters it was chaotic on sea days. Lunches--were excellent. Dinners were "OK". We ate dinner at 2 restaurants that didn't require reservations but like La Terrazza (Italian) best although pitifully refrigerated. The decor as just "OK"--you can't please everyone's personal taste. We used your ...

Not quite as nice as expected

We found the restaurants to be pretty good. Not a very good experience at Le Champagne. Several of the dishes had been sitting for awhile with mushroom soup being lumpy. We had to stir the soup to eat it. It should be better. Great wine selection and nice size Foie Gras. We found the Italian restaurant and the main dining room to our liking. We had two reservations in both Le Champagne and the ...

more fun with the staff than the passengers

The itinerary of the three legs was the reason for booking this cruise. We also looked at Regent but Silverseas itinerary was more to our liking. As much as we liked being so catered to, it was hard to socialize with fellow passengers or even to run into them again. I thought the casino left a lot to be desired and didn't have much of a pulse. I personally would like to see maybe more of an ...

Beautiful and modern ship, with just a few kinks to work out

We recently sailed on Silver Muse from Rome to Venice, for 12 nights. This was our first “real” Silversea cruise (we had previously been on an expedition cruise with them to the Galapagos and loved it). Overall, we enjoyed our experience but there were high points and low points. Let me start with the high points. The ship itself is beautiful. We had a Superior Verandah Suite on the ninth ...

Overall the cruise was extremely pleasing and we enjoyed it very much. The cabin was very well appointed and comfortable, the shower would be better if it was larger, we find no need for the bathtub. Dining experience not good, having to make restaurant reservations months before departure with little knowledge of the setting is not effective and leaves no room for flexibility of choices. ...

Need to tweak a few things

Have sailed with Silverseas before and liked it. However, the experiments on Muse were a failure in my opinion. No open dining! Well, we made reservations for several nights. The problem was we met some great people and the 8 of us wanted to have dinner together. They made that almost impossible so we ended up dining off the ship in the evenings when we were in port until 10. There were a ...

We started out with a horrible pre-cruise experience. We booked directly with Silversea's "Cruise Specialist" and after submitting our passport information, including expiration dates, and having it accepted by Silversea, we received all documents and got to the airport, where they refused my husband boarding because his passport expired in two months. We had to spend 2 nights in Philadelphia ...
