Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Seabourn Odyssey

We chose this Seabourn cruise (actually, three sequential cruises) on Odyssey because our previous experiences with Seabourn have been excellent. As Diamond members, we have been aboard a Seabourn ship for over 200 nights. We noted last fall aboard Sojourn that there had been cuts in dining options and in service. For example, two persons previously came in to clean suites. Now that there's ...

Let's start with the good, then go to the bad, and the ugly. The staff was outstanding - a bunch of hard-working, thoughtful and perceptive young people. They knew your name and your preferences. They were on the J-O-B 24-7. The entertainment - the pianist and the magician - comedian were outstanding (conversely, the historian was a twerp and should not be permitted to do another ship - he ...

Poor Value For the Money and Advertisements a Misrepresentation

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Seabourn Sojourn

I previously wrote a quasi review/compare contrast of Seabourn to Oceania. I want to expand a bit to be clear and fair. I also want to make clear that I am not writing as a snob or elite, but somebody who really enjoys the luxury travel experience and expects to get what we think we are paying for. My biggest problem with Seabourn and the reason for the less than favorable review is based on ...

This review bears a remarkable similarity to the story of "The Curate's Egg". Many of the aspects of the cruise were excellent, but some parts were very bad. Let's deal firstly with the good bits. At just two years old, Seabourn Sojourn is a lovely ship. We embarked in Fort Lauderdale on a wonderful itinerary which took us through the Panama Canal, all the way down the west coast of South ...

This is the second time we have been on the Odyssey. Previously with the little sisters. Overall I think it was what we expected. The staff of the ship is its biggest asset. We found everyone to be friendly and helpful. The ship was only 2/3 full so plenty of room (normal capacity being 450 I believe). I would not recommend the Seabourn bigger ships to folk under 30. I thought that ...

NOT 6 STARS, NOT EVEN CLOSE Sorry, Seabourn Sojourn, but you're not a six star ship. I'm not sure you're even a 5. You only had one chance to make a good impression, and you missed the boat. What can you expect when "Twiggy" is your Godmother. We sailed right before Christmas, and now as I looked back on this woefully inadequate cruise experience, the world would have been a much ...

Ok, let me first say that everyone takes a cruise for different reasons.Mine was to relax and relax I did........... I reserved this cruise on a last minute website for about 76% off the rack rate, so the bargain outweighed the disappointments. I traveled with my partner and we chose this itinerary for its 11 days of "no thinking" ports with 4 days at sea. Our "maiden Caribbean cruise" had about ...

She was an elegant young lady waiting;tied up at the dock but that was the surface; like with many painted ladies! We eventually got to and waited in the Grand Salon (after waiting on the dock facilities for 45 min.), no announcements, people confused, no music, no smiles, waiting for a "person" to take us to our cabin about an hour later; there he was, no smile, bored I think! We marched to our ...
