We have cruised many times of Princess. We were very disappointed on this trip. We booked it as a 32 day cruise from Buenos Aires to LA, not knowing that it was two trips. We did expect rough waters but we didn't except not to see Cape Horn, one of the reasons for the trip. We also had a port excluded because of the weather. There were so many extra sea days.
The food and entertainment was ...
Terrible customer service on phone and many on ship. Older ship, needs updating. Room had an odor. Carpet, bedakirt and outlets outdated. It needs a good overhaul. Food subpar. Not much for gluten and dairy free options. They were not enthused about my food intolerances and ut ahowes. Karoke outdated. App disn't work half of my cruise. Wifi overall good but sometimes hard to connect to.. They ...
Currently sailing on the Sapphire Princess for a 7 day northbound sailing.
We have previously sailed with Holland America and Disney Cruise Line
Impressions so far:
Embarkation:
- we boarded at approximately 2:00pm. The process was swift and clear.
- Once on the ship, we were told to go to the incorrect deck for our cabin. We wandered around for approximately 20 minutes. No staff to ...
Have cruised with them 9 times previous. Shocking lack of cheerful, helpful employees. Expected service at least equal to prior cruises. Small stateroom amenities have always been a nice perk. Forgot shower cap, had to get one from front desk, same with extra washcloth. No omelette station at the buffet, only cold eggs (scrambled, sunny side up, etc.). Specialty restaurants low on staffing, ...
Beginning on Day 1, we saw signs in the bathrooms on decks 5, 6, and 7 that said, "We're On it." It got worse with each of the 33 days on the ship -- to the point where you could NOT find an operational bathroom (both men's and women's).
The food in the buffet worst we have ever had on any ship. Much of it was not even edible. Even Carnival had better food! The food in the Dining rooms was just ...
I'm going to preface this review with a little of our cruising history. My husband and I are very experienced cruisers with 62 cruises since 2005. We've cruised with Princess several times, along with Carnival, Holland America, Celebrity, MSC and, our favorite, Norwegian. Out of those cruises, we'd rate this cruise (with #1 as fantastic and #62 as horrible) as number 55 and that's being ...
We have been on princess over ten times. We enjoyed Princess in the past but if this cruise is any indication of Princess today, I would urge you to spend your Cruise dollars elsewhere.
We have been on the Princess Sapphire 3 times. This last time really showed how old, tired, dirty the Sapphire is.
Our sliding glass balcony, "Club Class" door did not work and was never properly fixed. We ...
Our first cruise came from a recommendation and it was something new we wanted to experience. Overall you are very limited to variety and most days seemed like ground hog day. Cabin was beautiful and 5* treatment from our steward. The gym was the best I've been too but had nobody to supervise the users and the equipment, leading to children running around and treating it like a playground, also ...
The Sapphire Princess has a well seasoned crew with some staff having over 15 years of experience. They provide generally good and attentive service but with a few exceptions, fail to really engage passengers (Our International Dining Room wait staff was very good and drew our respect for her honest opinions and suggestions about what to do in port and life in general). Wait staff in the buffet ...
Having been a frequent cruiser for 20+ years, this was the first time I've tried Princess. Absolutely regret giving them a try! Stay with the top tier lines!
* Ship was outdated and everything looked old and run down.
* Food was mediocre and service was SLOW!!!
* Entertainment was awful! Many nights featured a single performer playing an instrument. May be appealing to some but lack of ...
