Renovation Work/areas closed spoiling our holiday

Review for a South Pacific Cruise on Scenic Eclipse II

What a beautiful ship, with top class chefs & customer service second to none. The choice and quality of food in the different restaurants was amazing. Our cabin was very comfortable and clean. However what ruined our holiday was renovation works on the decks for 11/19 of our holiday days. Outside areas were closed, there was distracting noise, workmen moving around the boat, dust and dirt, ...

We chose this particular cruise for the itinerary it offered. For the most part, it met our expectations. However, we were unable to disembark in Easter Island due to high swells (no docking there, so tenders are needed). I purchased the "Silver Beverage" package but often found that I had to "wave down" waiters to get a glass of wine/alcohol/etc whether we were on the pool deck or ...

Review for a World Cruise Cruise on Queen Mary 2 (QM2)

We did enjoy the ship, how ever thought it lacked the wow factor. We enjoyed the QE last year much more. The ship seemed a bit higgle de piglle with stairs all over the place. Service was ok , but only ok over all. We have had better on other ships and on ships with less star ratings. Ships Captain and Officers might have been on another planet, for what we saw / heard of them. When ...

I had never travelled QM2 before and found a balcony cabin on a cruise travelling to Sydney at a reasonable price entry point. Found the ship to be tired with very uneven floor surfaces including holes that were a trip hazards, especially in the casino. . I was very surprised as I expected top quality. I have cruised approximately 18 times prior, and had upmost expectations for the QM2 I assume ...

Boarding at Valparaiso went well. Our cabin was great, and we were on G deck, the lowest passenger deck. The cabin was very clean, and certainly larger than what we have had with other cruise lines at a similar level. What was good that our suitcases slipped under the bed, which we have not been able to do with some cruise lines. Our cabin steward Johnny was first class. Cabin was left ...

The marina is a very comfortable ship and we and our 4 friends had a great time. Staff is very courteous and helpful; entertainment was excellent; the 4 speciality restaurants were superior - my favorite was toscana (italian). The main dining room was a disappoint. service was slow and uneven and i generally did not care for the menu offerings. we tried it 3 times for dinner. the sunday ...

We're seasoned cruisers (33 total - going all the way back to Grace Lines "Santa Rosa" in 1957), and this marked our first time aboard Oceania. We sailed on Marina from Valparaiso on 17 Dec & disembarked in Tahiti on 4 Jan 2015. We'd booked our air through Oceania as well, and were quite concerned from the start that Oceania had cut the time to catch our connecting AA international flight from ...

Uneven Experience with Oceania

Review for a South Pacific Cruise on Marina

The Marina is a beautiful ship with large open areas. Even when the ship is completely full, as it was for us, you do not feel crowded anywhere. On the top of the ship is a running track and below it and above the pool another walking area. Unfortunately, both are without cover and provide the only options for walking outside since there is no promenade deck on this ship. Also, on the top deck you ...
