Two couples: We chose this cruise to fulfill a bucket list for both of the ladies. We wanted a Norway itinerary and this 11 day cruise certainly delivered. We flew into Copenhagen 3 days early and enjoyed this city a lot. Stayed at the Andersen Boutique Hotel, only three blocks from the main train station, and it was excellent. Very highly recommended. Be aware that Copenhagen is a bit ...
My sister and I took this cruise because our family came over to Minnesota from Norway. Our great grandfather was from Alesund so we wanted to see what the country was like. I know why they chose Minnesota as below the arctic circle it looks like Minnesota. Above the Arctic Circle it is a vast wilderness, not many people, no trees, and cold, but interesting to visit once.
We flew in to ...
We did a back-to-back on Serenade of the Seas. We began on June 3rd with a cruise above the Arctic Circle going through many fjords. The ship is small enough to get into the top fjords, but large enough to feel stable in the open waters. I am sure a lot of it has to do with the ability of Captain Steig - who is also a very fun captain. Being he was born north of the Arctic Circle he is ...
While the cruise was pretty great there were particular problems. Royal Caribbean says gold members are entitled to priority check-in. There was no priority check-in for gold members. Why say there is when there isn’t?The taxi line when leaving the cruise was a complete disaster. 45 minutes. Apparently in Copenhagen the Muslim taxi drivers took the day off due to a holiday. A complete fail on the ...
We chose this cruise because we had never visited any of these countries. Our state room was clean and very well-attended. The breakfast food in the Windjammers Cafe was okay. We especially enjoyed the dinner in the main dining room. Not every dish was a hit, but those that were were stellar, and the service was truly exceptional. Entertainment options on the boat were quite limited. We found that ...
We just finished 3 B2B cruises that started in Ft. Lauderdale Florida. We crossed the Atlantic and the first segment terminated in Copenhagen. From there we did a Norwegian fjords cruise taking us back to Copenhagen. Followed by a Dave Koz charter cruise to the Balkans. This was 31 days onboard the Serenade of the Seas. We changed cabins with every segment. That's the background, here's my ...
The dining and cabin services was excellent. We enjoyed the live entainment and games.
The ports visited was second to none, we enjoyed the different culture and history, and the excursions was informative. The time spend on land should be a little longer so one can appreciate the history and lifestyle. Excellent variety of excursions at the various ports of call although some were quite ...
I chose the this ship as I wanted to go to Iceland and the larger ships do not go there.
I travel the transatlantic twice a year and prefer a ship that has the Royal Promenade, ice skating, diving, Production Shows, nightly entertainment , lectures, etc
I would not go to Iceland again but I can say "Been There, Done That"
I booked an interior room for the trip to Iceland. Never ...
We did a transatlantic from Copenhagen to Boston. The ship was clean, cabin balcony cabin was comfortable. First time I saw a chair instead of a couch. The mattresses need changed but we managed.
What they cut: no more lobster night, no more 90 minutes free internet for Diamond members- you get 24 hrs.,
What they did well: Employees seemed very pleasant especially our room attendant ...
Generally we prefer the Oasis class ships due to the amazing entertainment, but we decided to give Serenade a try because of the itinerary. We did have a concern that 29 days on a smaller ship might get a bit old, but because the first two cruises (Baltic and Norwegian Fjords) were so port intensive that we never felt tired of this ship. The final cruise, a TA stopping at Iceland and Halifax on ...
