Panama Canal Cruise/ Caribbean Princess

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Caribbean Princess

Hi going on a Panama Cruise is quite limiting in the choice of ships you can take. We did chose a mini balcony suite on the Port side of the Carribbean Princess to see the best views of the canal crossing. They said the boat was renovated but it certainly could use another renovation, its just not modern or have any notable modern rooms or artwork. The balcony advertised to be much larger is ...

This was our 17th cruise on many different lines (Carnival, Celebrity, Cunard, Holland America, NCL and Royal Caribbean) and wanted to try Princess to see if it’s any better. We flew from Ontario to Ft. Lauderdale the day before the cruise and stayed at the Hampton Inn Airport North which was great. Embarkation/Disembarkation –The embarkation was delayed by almost 2 hours due to a Norovirus ...

We chose this cruise because 4 of the 6 people in our group had never seen the Panama Canal. The itinerary wasn't all that great but the canal was the highlight of the trip. The first stop was Falmouth, Jamaica. Nothing much to report here since we had all been to Jamaica before so got off walked around and back on again. Next stop was Cartagena, had never been here so booked a hop on hop off ...

Cruising is a different experience now

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Emerald Princess

I've sailed Emerald Princess in 2019 on a Mediterranean cruise, and 5 other cruises. Agree with PP, the portions are smaller, but I prefer the smaller size, but there is noticeable cost cutting going on in the kitchen. There were 2 surf and turf nights, since one night was Valentine's day. Numerous people on board told us the Crown Grill and Sabatini's were not worth the cost, so we canceled our ...

Our review is based solely on our personal observation on this 15 day cruise. For us, never again will we take that long of a cruise. The main reason is that the guests are generally seniors,, We are 65 and 68 and we found most people considerably older than us and many have never heard the word restraint when using perfumes and other scented products. By day 10 my allergies were through ...

We chose this as our bucket list cruise around the world. First the two items that were positive about this cruise: 1.The cabin stewards and the personnel in the Horizon Cafe were terrific when it came to service 2.The Horizon Cafe Buffet had a great selection of food which was well prepared and had a tremendous variety. Unfortunately those are the only god things I can report about this ...

Great itinerary, generally good execution

Chose the Ft. Lauderdale to Fort Lauderdale world cruise for the excellent scheduled itinerary. Was a bit concerned about the reconfiguration of the ship that replaced the aft lounge with additional cabins. Also concerned about general age and condition of ship based on reviews. The delivered itinerary exceeded expectations, even with a number of ports cancelled due to weather. Princess ...

World Cruise - not a true World Cruise - Do Not Waste your money or time

Review for a World Cruise Cruise on Island Princess

A World Cruise (WC) was on my bucket list and Princess is our preferred Cruise Line (4 of us). This was NOT a cruise I would repeat nor recommend. The Island Princess is old and needs A LOT of repairs - rust, mildew, mold, water leaks, cabin entry doors not opening and more. All major safety issues - I worked in Transportation Safety for over 20 years and Island is NOT a safe ship unless it has ...

Nice Cruise But ........

To put this review in perspective, just five weeks before this cruise we'd been to a river cruise on the Nile in Egypt. So any review after that may pale in comparison. That being said, this cruise was very nice in where the ship stopped for tours. We've been on a cruise to the Caribbean before but to different stops along the way. This cruise is listed as a ten day trip which is true enough ...

Been a while since going on a cruise, first solo cruise in my 67 years and it was better than expected with a bump or two. Panama canal is an amazing feat of large scale engineering. Food is very good, entertainment was the best I have had in maybe 20 cruises in my life. Singing and dancing isn't my favorite but the production numbers I really enjoyed. Lots of corny events on at sea days, from ...
