To put this review in perspective, just five weeks before this cruise we'd been to a river cruise on the Nile in Egypt. So any review after that may pale in comparison. That being said, this cruise was very nice in where the ship stopped for tours.

We've been on a cruise to the Caribbean before but to different stops along the way. This cruise is listed as a ten day trip which is true enough though there are four days at sea. Understandable given the distance you travel but still something to consider when booking any trip.

After the first day at sea we stopped in the Dominican Republic. We've traveled on Princess before so when we prepared for our first off ship tour we allowed plenty of time to get to the staging area on the ship. We had to go through the casino to get to our staging area. There was a line formed in the casino and a man in line told us someone told him to line up there for the tour we were going on. I decided we should continue to the designated area since he may have meant a different tour. When we got to the staging area there were many people there, some getting off the elevators just outside the theater area. It seemed to be very confused as there was only one crew member standing on the stairs directing people back to the casino. This crew member wasn't even in uniform. So we went in the direction he told us and back into the casino to the line where the man had told us he was directed to be in. Well we got to the line but now it extended back and when we finally found the end of the line it was right back to the elevator lobby we'd just left and just behind our designated staging area. Everyone in line was confused by how things were being handled. There we moved at a snails pace back toward the casino. No one in line was happy about how things were progressing. Once we got back to about where we'd met the man we'd previously encountered a man in uniform told us to go back to the elevator area once again. There we found two other crew members, both in civilian clothing, asking what tour we were on and handing out colored and numbered stickers which referred to the tour you were on. Then they directed us down two floors to the egress area from the ship. This delayed our leaving the ship by at least forty five minutes. Not what I've come to expect from Princess from past trips. Someone really dropped the ball which given the fact there was a full sea day before the first stop is ridiculous. I'm sure many complained because every trip off the ship after this was much more in line with how they were handled on other cruises we've been on.

Cabin Review

The cabin was about what I expected though the shower was barely large enough to turn around in and I'm not a large person. The cleanliness of the bathroom could have been better but passible.
