Very enjoyable cruise to Bermuda on the Dawn. The process of getting on and off could not have been easier, and the trip was smooth sailing all week.
Pros:
- Incredibly friendly and helpful crew; top notch wait staff and bartenders
- Excellent cabin steward
- We did not have the food upgrade package but found the standard food options to be very good; especially liked Venetian and ...
The trip was intended as a simple family getaway with minimal additional travel beyond the cruise itself since we live within an hour of the Boston port.
Overall, the trip was good. Food was very acceptable in quality and of course quantity.
As with most, if not all cruises, getting a chair on deck when it's sunny is a hassle because people go out at 6am and block off chairs with towels ...
very fun ship...lot to do with kids and adults...the entertainment was TOP NOTCH, and Bermuda is a great port...rooms were clean and nice...and the upgrades were very good. Only a few negative things to mention:
1) Out of Boston, and maybe this is the time of the year, there were a LOT of younger (18-22) kids getting hammered...that goes obviously with a lot of adults...it's not going to ruin ...
I chose this cruise because it leaves from Boston
One extremely dissapointing feature was that we paid for the ultimate beverage package and despite the name ultimate, it does not include water!!!
the staff were very friendly and nice. Food was OK.
The Italian specialty restaurant was not as good as I would have liked
The cabin was spacious and well stocked
Getting around the ship ...
Family vacation from Boston so we wouldn't have to deal with flying to enjoy an island. Cruise ship was clean, and encourages staying clean - "washy washy, happy happy!" Was very glad I made reservations for our dinners before boarding. The only time we had a "glitch" was when they declared a Captain's Night so we had to rush back to our cabin to get changed into proper attire (no shorts!) to be ...
my husband decided 3 years ago to taken a different vacation....because I'm the one that drives and he doesn't want to fly....so with that this was our 3rd year sailing with the Dawn
loved it the 1st time and better the 2nd time and wonderful the 3rd......we are .planning on going again next year...but different destination . Looking to go north with our next cruise on the Norwegian ...
I took this cruise with five other women. Some of us are experienced cruisers and some were cruising for the first time. This particular ship supposedly was updated recently but I still found it to be dated. I have been on four other cruises with Norwegian and this ship was the least appealing in terms of decor. However, as much as I love a tropical decor other things matter more to me. I ...
Cruised with 5 female friends which I have known for approx. 45 yrs. The food at the buffet on the 12th deck was very good...although I wish the soft serve ice cream was available more often. Very clean...no sooner would you finish eating and there would be someone to take our dirty plates away. Found the Venetian restaurant (although very nice) to be slow at times and chlostraphobic. Had ...
Keep in mind that for a first time cruiser, I did not know what to expect or even what to look for in a cruise so my opinions may be skewed since I do not have any other cruise to compare this one to but even so I had a WONDERFUL time on the Norwegian Dawn and I felt that it was a great cruise for my first time. When I was initially booking a cruise, I had no idea what to look for in terms of ...
Loved the ship and Bermuda! Great staff and food. Crew dancers and shows were amazing! Only complaint is allowing t shirts in the main dining. We enjoyed all of the activites on board. Staying in Bermuda for 2 1/2 is wonderful but wished it had been longer. The America Cup was a bonus. Enjoying watching the boats practice near our ship. Best Bonus was the free NCI ferry to St George. But we ...
