We always wanted to see Alaska, and the Joy was the ship that we booked on. The ship is very large, and has a huge pool deck area. It also had two huge water slides that hung over the side rails. Which is great, except that the weather was too cold to enjoy the outdoor area. Because of the size of the pool deck area, the theater was smaller than on most Norwegian ships. When we went to see a ...
On arrival at dock in Seattle all went well, but in the check-in process the person handling our check-in was, to be kind, totally at a loss. She could not get my unlimited American Express card to work on their equipment. After several attempts she stated “don’t worry unless you want to buy something on board you don’t need your ship card, just use your credit card.” With that she gave us our ...
The Joy is a lovely new ship. We chose this cruise because we brought our family for an Alaskan adventure. Our group included my husband and I (50’s - 60’s), daughter and son-in-law (early 40’s) and grandkids (13 & 15). The Joy offered amenities for family members of all ages. The all-inclusive nature of the trip also was a factor in choosing NCL over other lines. We selected the adult beverage ...
I choose NCL for the extra percks included like the bar package and specialty dining and the Joy because it was new, big and went out of Seattle. I have been on several cruises but this was my first on NCL and this was my husbands first ever. I wanted a ship that had a lot to do so he would never be bored.
I was nervous because there were no reviews before I booked it and once they started ...
I chose NCL Joy for all the perks. The ship is beautiful. Excellent service. Housekeeping service is excellent. Overall the ship was kept very clean. My balcony cabin 14888 was average size for cabin, It did have plenty of storage space. Food was good. We ate in Manhattan which food was very good but very busy. The buffet at the Garden Café was ok. It is a buffet. Don't expect to get crab legs or ...
OK, here goes. The excursions saved this cruise from be horrific and, at that, they only increased my rating to Poor. Embarkation was fine, no real hassles. Disembarkation was a fiasco. From trying to identify your luggage out of hundreds of bags to trying to funnel out of the building thru on small doorway, it was poorly organized.....The staterooms/cabins, our was a port side forward balcony ...
My husband, my sister, her husband and I were on Norwegian Alaska Land/Sea Tour. We had an awesome time. Norwegian did a great job with the itinerary. The tour guide was very nice and knowledgeable. The Norwegian Jewel was a great ship. We had an inside cabin 9569 and it was perfect for us since there is 21 hours of daylight in June. There was plenty of room for the two of us to get around the ...
Alaska is one of the prettiest places I have ever cruised but not the best cruise. The cabin was great. Had an ocean view room, saw the interior rooms and had friends with a balcony. I think our room was laid out the best. Lots of room for hanging and shelves. The bed was very uncomfortable and I heard the same from others.
Service in the main dining room was very good but was disappointed in ...
We've been on quite a few cruises over the years mostly in the Caribbean so we figured Alaska has been on our list and began planning last year to do it. We're out of Atlanta so we planned an extra day to see Seattle. The locals folks us not to say this but..it is a really cool city. We walked 12.5 miles Saturday before and saw most everything...had the best Copper River Salmon for lunch...So back ...
Another awesome cruise on NCL. The Bliss is a little over a year old. The staff is amazing and so friendly. Special thanks to our steward Hendra. He is a gem! There is no shortage of things to do. They have 2 water slides, go carts, laser tag, miniature golf and a casino. The Bliss also has several pools including one adult only pool and multiple hot tubs from forward to aft. NCL has a fully ...
