Another awesome cruise on NCL. The Bliss is a little over a year old. The staff is amazing and so friendly. Special thanks to our steward Hendra. He is a gem! There is no shortage of things to do. They have 2 water slides, go carts, laser tag, miniature golf and a casino. The Bliss also has several pools including one adult only pool and multiple hot tubs from forward to aft. NCL has a fully packed itinerary to occupy every minute of every day. The food was decent, much better in the specialty restaurants than the buffet and other complimentary restaurants. In addition to the buffet they have 4 complimentary restaurants. The Local Bar and Grill is open 24 hours and had the worst food on the ship. The buffet was better than the Local. 9 specialty restaurants give you plenty of other options. The steakhouse was the best.

For those who drink there are at least 6 bars which were pretty lively every day. There's also a Starbucks, gelato shop, bake shop and specialty confectioner with milkshakes, crepes and homemade candy. Yes, we gained quite a few pounds in a week even though we worked out every day. I do have to say the fitness center is TOO SMALL! It was packed everyday.

Entertainment is plentiful including Jersey Boy's which was fantastic. They have 2 other musicals (Havana and Prohibition the Musical) which were so-so. The Beatles impersonators were excellent and performed a different Beatle's album nightly at the Cavern Club. The whole crowd sang along. We did not go to the comedy club but I heard it was very good. They also have two other bands that play in the Atrium a few times a day and night. Both bands were very good.

Aft-facing Balcony Stateroom

Cabin B1

Decent size. Balcony was invaluable in Glacier Bay.

Port Reviews

Seattle

I was in Seattle 25 years ago... this trip was depressing. We are definitely not fans of this city. They have a homeless problem like I have never seen. I lived in L.A. for 16 years and go back twice a year. While I'll admit SoCal has a homeless problem, Seattle's is far worse. There are homeless on every street, corner to corner. We covered a large part of the city and it was the same everywhere. A large majority are mentally ill; they not are asking for money because they barely know where they are. It feels like the city is doing nothing except waiting for them to die. The whole thing is heartbreaking. If that wasn't bad enough there is constructions 24/7/365. Every street has some kind of construction. Sidewalk are closed so, a 1 mile walk turns into 2 miles and you cross the streets 10 times to get to your destination. Never again!

Glacier Bay

Does this need words? Magnificent! Breathtaking! Amazing! WOW! Our Alaska trip was fantastic but this was the highlight. Hearing the loud cracking and then seeing the ice break off and land in the water with a thunderous boom was incredible. Our ship spent 4 hours cruising around viewing 4 different glaciers. Margerie glacier was the most spectacular. We could have stayed for 10 hours and still not grown tired of seeing the glaciers.

Victoria

The city is fine it's NCL that has the problem. Port stop was 4 hours and it was at night (8pm-11:59pm). More than an hour to get off the ship with long lines, security and customs. Why bother stopping? We waited until the lines died down, got off at and ran to Fisherman's Wharf to have ice cream... basically just to say we set foot in Canada
