My husband, my sister, her husband and I were on Norwegian Alaska Land/Sea Tour. We had an awesome time. Norwegian did a great job with the itinerary. The tour guide was very nice and knowledgeable. The Norwegian Jewel was a great ship. We had an inside cabin 9569 and it was perfect for us since there is 21 hours of daylight in June. There was plenty of room for the two of us to get around the side of the bed and to use the desk at the bottom of the bed. There is plenty of storage for luggage once we unpacked. The lighting was easy to find and the temperature in the room worked great. The bathroom shower was a nice size. But the way the toilet is placed it is hard to have enough leg room if you are very tall.
Our room steward was very friendly and kept the room cleaned. We received towel animals each night which was a nice gesture. We saw the comedian twice on the cruise. He was better the first time. The second time he did an adult version which wasn't as good as his family show. We also saw the show where they sang 70-80 songs. That was a little corny and the singers were not that good. We didn't get to any of the other shows. The food in the buffet was always good and plenty to choose from. We did eat often at O'Sheeans and always enjoyed what we got. The service was always fast and friendly. The only specialty restaurant we ate at was Moderno. The service there was very good and the food was very good. I tried their specialty drink and did not like that at all.
We had the land portion of our trip first then got the ship in Seward and finished in Vancouver. Embankment and Disembarkation went very smoothly with no issues.
The cabin had enough room for two people with plenty of storage space. Very quite. Room always made up and supplied with towels, washcloths and shower gel and shampoo. The room is perfect if you like it dark and need to sleep.
We didn't get to do the excursion we wanted to because it sold out until we wanted to book it. If you want to do the Zip Rider book it early it fills up fast. There isn't much of anything else to do in the port except shop if you don't do an excision.
We didn't do any tour in Vancouver. We bought a day pass to ride the Skytrain/city buss and water boat so we could do what we wanted until our flight left later in the evening. That was good for all day and as many times you want to get on and off. We toured the city on our own. This is a very big city but were able to get to see Olympic Village, China Town, Gastown and Granville Island by using this mode of travel. All were nice to see.
