Going back to Fantasy- Crew working harder to overcome a poorly designed ship resulting in low cast member morale

Review for a Bahamas Cruise on Disney Wish

This is our 8th Disney Cruise. Our children who are now teenagers and young adults have grown up on DCL. We have sailed on all of the ships, with the Fantasy being our favorite. Bottomline up front: The ship is poorly designed. Too many times people are forced to bottleneck at certain places. Restaurants are awkwardly split in two. The interior design has no unifying theme. It looks like ...

We have been on all the Disney Ships starting in 2001. We have sailed with Disney now 15 times, so of course we had to experience the Disney Wish. We did a back-to-back this time as we needed a full week to explore without feeling rushed. First we did the 3 day cruise in Veranda stateroom 7028. Unfortunately we could not keep the same cabin as it was not available. The 4 day was in Veranda ...

The cruise was costly, but the food poisoning was free

My family and I sailed on Disney Wish December 19-23. The ship was beautifully decorated and new, obviously. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The food was good. The positives stop there. The pools are very small and oddly located. We had a very rough passage to and from the Bahamas. On the last night my 12 & 14 year old daughters got food poisoning. They started throwing up at 10 pm. ...

Mixed feelings about the new Disney Wish

We’ve been on all of the Disney ships and we were looking to see how the Wish compared to the others. Bottom line, we will not plan to sail on the Wish again. We prefer the retro classic decor of the first four ships over this one. The layout is also confusing and we don’t particularly like having to take three different elevators to get to deck 13. This is one for you to experience if you ...

The crew is great - the ship design has flaws.

We wanted to try the new Disney ship! We've been on the other 4 and loved it. Not so much with the Wish. The crew was great, the wait staff did their best to work in crowded dining rooms but there were large and small design flaws in the ship and the cabin we were in. We have been on other cruise ships and all of the ships have a deck you can walk around. On the Wish, the walking deck is half ...

Beautiful ship but...

Ship is beautifully appointed and service is top notch. However the layout leaves a lot to be desired. A lot of venues were hidden around corners or down long corridors. There was a whole bunch of venues we never saw until the end of the cruise because we simply didn't know they existed just by walking around the ship (Rose, Palo, and Enchante to be specific). The adults only pool area is ...

Beautiful ship, but it's a one and done.

The ship is nice. It still has the new car smell. If you're a previous Disney cruiser, it may have been a let down. If you're a new Disney cruiser, you may have loved it. It was a good cruise, but I wasn't sad to leave. What's good: Beautiful/well-themed venues New food, finally - if you know, you know Huge variety of specialty drinks for venues crew - very helpful no aft ...
