We wanted to try the new Disney ship! We've been on the other 4 and loved it. Not so much with the Wish. The crew was great, the wait staff did their best to work in crowded dining rooms but there were large and small design flaws in the ship and the cabin we were in. We have been on other cruise ships and all of the ships have a deck you can walk around. On the Wish, the walking deck is half on 4 and half on 5 with steep stairs halfway around. I miss the Cove area for adults. On the Wish only 8 seats were in the shade most of the time on the back of the ship by the bar. To get there, it could take 3 different elevators and a long hot walk for us not so young adults. It was just the two of us so we don't know how the kids areas were. The timing of events caused sound bleed over from one area to the other so that at the (very small) pub we had a hard time hearing a football game and also a hard time hearing a presentation in another room. The movie theaters are small but for a short cruise we didn't have trouble getting seats when we wanted. The main dining rooms had tables and chairs too close together - we felt sorry for the wait staff trying to get to their guests. I really missed the Animator's Pallet dining room - nothing close to that on the Wish. The food was good with a few not so goods. The entertainment was the best and the staff was the best. The excursions were the normal ones. We will do more Disney cruises for sue - just not on the Wish for a while.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah

In the cabin, the amount of storage space was about 1/3 of what is on the smaller ships. The phone placement in a bookcase area was the worst - stuck on the side of the bookcase wall rather than on the back. The phone hit every time we dug it out and we had to use the flashlight on our phones to read the buttons. The bathtub drain was not at the end of the tub but on the side in the middle - right were someone steps when showering. The bookcase shelves are way too shallow to be of any use. And the fridge was a weird tub configuration with no explanation of how to best use it.
