Exciting & Fulfilling Adventure

Review for a Antarctica Cruise on Viking Polaris

From out check in in Buenos Aires until we disembarked in Ushuaia, this was the best cruise we have experienced in over 6o cruises on many other lines over eleven years of cruising. The professionalism of the crew, the excellent food, the great itinerary all came together to make this a most memorable experience. Breakfast at Mamsen's, lunch and dinner in the world cafe were all above anyone's ...

Viking is known for their luxury cruise lines and best in customer service, cleanest, very professional, polite and friendly crew members, food and restaurants is top notch and variety. The Viking Polaris is newly built it is very modern very spacious and the interior designed was absolutely amazing. As for excursions, we had one that canceled due to weather, safety and equipments appear to be ...

Antarctic Expedition great but avoid Viking Air at all costs.

The Viking Air Department is horrible and should be avoided. The Air Department lies, randomly and without notice changes itineraries, ignores stated flight preferences, and becomes punitive if you challenge them. We assured by a Viking representative that we would have our choice of available partner airlines for our December 15-29 Viking Polaris expedition to the Antarctic if we purchased ...

Great for Solo Travelers

Review for a Caribbean - All Cruise on Le Dumont d'Urville

Ponant is one of the few cruise lines that offers multiple cruises without a single supplement. For almost the same price as a Caribbean cruise on a premium cruise line (double for solos), I was able to book a mid-ship balcony cabin on an ultra-luxury Ponant cruise. Le Dumont d'Urville is a beautiful mega-yacht with a modern, minimalist design. Food, drinks, service, cabins, lectures and so forth ...

Excellent exciting adventure with one MAJOR disappointment

Review for a Antarctica Cruise on Viking Octantis

I have traveled with Viking on three European river cruises in the past and looked forward to gathering my family in a reunion on this trip which promised to be most exciting. We spent almost a year planning this trip. I purchased six slots (three cabins) to bring us all together and to introduce them to what I knew was the quality of a Viking adventure. The Antarctic expedition cruise was ...

Icebergs and penguins and whales, Oh My!

Review for a Antarctica Cruise on Viking Octantis

Our previous cruise experiences have centered around jazz cruises--once to Alaska, but most in the Caribbean. When I read about the special discounts being offered by Viking for their expedition/adventure cruises to Antarctica, and shared the information with my husband, we decided it was the PERFECT gift for our birthdays/Christmas! We usually head to warmer climes in the winter (I'm normally NOT ...

Antarctica had been on our bucket list for a while, and so when our Russian River Cruise was canceled and Viking announced the launch of their two new expedition ships the choice for us was a "no-brainer." The most stressful part of the journey was getting to and from the Viking Octantis. Our southbound trip from Flagstaff required three flights, twenty-nine (29) hours of travel and gaining ...

I have always wanted to travel to the far south on our wonderful planet. This cruise was a dream come true. We had lots of indescribeable moments. The quietness of the areas. The purity of the envirnoment. Surprises along the way . Animals that we encountered were an abundance of whales, penguins, seals and birds. The Octantis is a wonderful cruise ship. Very comfortable, great ...

Review for a Antarctica Cruise on Viking Octantis

Antarctica is the most remote place on Earth. It is also the only continent not owned by any country, but by treaty is maintained as a scientific research and environmentally protected area. The Octantis was designed by Viking specifically to meet the environmental and scientific needs of Antarctica as well as to provide for eco-tourism; to expand the awareness of the Antarctic continent and ...

Inaugural cruise on Sylvia Earle

Review for a Antarctica Cruise on Sylvia Earle

My wife and I were on the inaugural cruise to the Antarctic for the Sylvia Earle back in December 2022. She was a beautiful ship and very well designed for expedition cruising. I was particularly impressed with the zodiac marina and how quickly the crew could get them into and out of the water. The expedition cruise team was professional, the ship was comfortable, and the food was good. ...
