I have traveled with Viking on three European river cruises in the past and looked forward to gathering my family in a reunion on this trip which promised to be most exciting. We spent almost a year planning this trip. I purchased six slots (three cabins) to bring us all together and to introduce them to what I knew was the quality of a Viking adventure.

The Antarctic expedition cruise was excellent and met all the expectations made by Viking (except for the submarine trip) and the accommodations, food, service, crew and staff, special educational opportunities all lived up to the high standards that Viking has set.

Nordic Balcony

I really enjoyed the accommodations but due to the Viking Air screwup I was alone. If I were to book a trip on this ship again i would opt for one of the larger cabins as it would have been a bit tight for double occupancy.

The cabin steward service was excellent and very well done. I could not have asked for any more attention than what was provided and the staff was delightful.

Port Reviews

Ushuaia (Tierra del Fuego)

I have traveled with Viking in the past (3 river cruises) and looked forward to continuing the excellent experiences of my past. Ushuaia is a delightful port to begin an adventure from, I wish I had more time to visit the surrounding area.
