This ship is badly designed. With full capacity of 3500 passengers there was extreme overcrowding in all the public spaces. The tiny buffet on the 17th deck was far smaller than those in ships with only 2000-2500 passengers. It was always a zoo: long lines, no where to sit. The main theatre was way too small. Instead of having two performances of a new show each evening in a large theater, ...
The Iceland and Northern Europe cruise is wonderful, ports of call superb. The Prima is a beautiful ship, with lots of amenities for all ages. Sadly we were very disappointed with the food. After 4 days of the 10 day cruise they ran out of healthy breakfast cereal. It was difficult to find sources of fiber. Healthy food choices limited to non existent at the buffet . The Palomar specialty ...
We just returned from a 10 night cruise on the Prima and we loved the ship and the ports. This was our fourth cruise on NCL and about our 10th cruise overall.
The complaints about crowding in some of the venues are valid and it took a little planning to deal with it but we managed it well. I did not find the ship difficult to navigate.
My impressions:
The ship is gorgeous. Every space is ...
First time sailing with SS (and Silver Moon) but have sailed on about a dozen other cruises including Seabourne and Oceania many times. Silversea, at least in our experience with this particular cruise was by far the best. 10/10. We were highly impressed.
Beautiful new ship, elegant but also contemporary in design, blended the two perfectly. Suite was on par with Seabourne but with much better ...
Given the reviews here was expecting the worst, but overall it was actually quite ok. Given the amazing ports and more than reasonable price, I am pretty satisfied in the end.
Itinerary: Reykjavík to Tromso via Svalbard. 3 days at sea which was a good break between all the excursions. 3 of the ports were tendered - but only the very first one was somewhat chaotic. The only issue was that they ...
We chose the cruise because we have talked for years about wanting to see the Arctic and my wife found a very affordable price on these cruises. Obviously seeing the beauty of the Arctic environment and the Arctic wild life, Polar Bears, Humpback whales, Northern bottle nose whales, Fin whales, and even a Blue whale, Musk Oxen, arctic foxes, and much, much more was a highlight, but getting to ...
We had been on many Viking River cruises but never on a Viking ocean cruise. We were excited to see Iceland while experiencing a Viking ocean cruise for the first time. We found that the included excursions were very basic (e.g., walk around a small Iceland town of 700 people). The excursions that were not complimentary were very pricy, far exceeding what we experienced on Viking river cruises. ...
We absolutely love Viking Ocean cruises! We have cruised on other lines before and feel we get more from the Viking experience. People truly do enjoy learning here! It was nice to hear one of our guides in Iceland who stated how respectful Viking guests are in comparison to other cruise lines. Despite the somewhat stressful excursion and specialty restaurant booking process, we feel like we got ...
We chose this cruise because it visited the western part of Greenland which was new to us. We are Elite and took a veranda room on 10. This was cruise number 110. It was the worst cruise we’ve ever been on. The ship was full to capacity which meant it was very crowded. Design of ship just is not meant for 3500 people. It was difficult to simply find a place to sit and have a drink at anytime. ...
We chose Viking because of their reputation. We were not disappointed. We chose the Iceland cruise to experience whale watching; seeing the puffins; and hopefully to see the Northern lights. From the moment we stepped on board, we felt we were being greeted by friends who wanted to ensure our comfort and happiness. We lo ed the whale watching excursion and can't say enough about how wonderful ...
