Lithuania was next and proved to be a disappointment. The town of Klaipeda held little interest and we wish we had booked an excursion and done something else. If we ever stop here again we will go over to the park on the Island opposite and walk or cycle. ...

We did a ship tour to Curonian Spit - lovely to see but I'm reminded why I don't like doing tours. Why is there always a couple of people who think it's OK to be late or to try to change the intin? ...

We took the excursion that takes you to the Curonian Spit, Juodkrante and then Nida. I really wish we could have spent more time in the Spit area and then just go to Nida. In 5.5 hours there was just too much to explore and you could not really feel anything. There might be a tour with just these two and you will be better off taking that :) ...

Visited on our own. Interestingly, the cruise offered a $28 per person tour to go to the beach. However, for 2 Euros, roundtrip, you can go to the beach on a ferry from the adjacent pier. Once there, you rent an umbrella and lounge chair for 6 Euros. The beach is a really nice, fine sand beach. There was snack and refreshment shop on the beach. ...

Lower key than Riga, but engaging and friendly, with easy walks along the river, and a foot ferry to the spit opposite if you want to enjoy the countryside. ...
