More of a wonderful journey than a cruise

Review for a Norwegian Fjords Cruise on Richard With

We were attracted to the cruise because we wanted to see the northern lights. We had not been to Norway so an added attraction was to see the fjords. We had not been on a cruise before (apart from an 8 berth cruise around the Galapagos) so the idea of being on a working ship with a relatively small group of people on the cruise itself suited us too (we were wary of the idea of a dedicated cruise ...

I took this cruise from Bergen to Russia and back. Went in October so I could experience the northern lights but yet have full daylight and the northern lights did not disappoint! As we headed north into the Arctic Circle we had several nights that were truly spectacular . As for the ship itself, spotless and the staff was excellent . This is a small ship with no casinos and noshows or ...

Perfect Weather, Nature, well maintained Ship.

More than Perfect for lovers of pure nature and cruising close to the shore, but very much related on the weather. Every hour provides different views to the Norwegian Coast. Nice Ship. A huge amount of windows. 2 Deck Panorama to the front. You can walk around on Deck 6 without any barriers. Perfect Ship if you have a wheelchair. Lokal Crew. Not 100% service orientatded. Local ...

Our Third Viking Star Cruise

On our first cruise aboard the Viking Star, we were totally impressed with this vessel. Beautiful lines; roomy cabins; happy, helpful staff; fabulous foods; great entertainment; soothing spa, etc. We took the Viking Star a second time when it cruised the Caribbean, simply because we were in love with the ship and, since we have been to the Caribbean over and over again, this time we took ...

Great ship; good excursions

Review for a Europe - All Cruise on Viking Star

Great value for an itinerary that covered several areas that we had not visited before. The offer of two guests for one fare with free air was too great a temptation. The trip was excellent except for somewhat rough seas for a couple of days. It could have been a lot worse! The excursions were well planned, and for the most part were interesting and informative. The service on the ship ...

Not quite as good as we remembered

We thoroughly enjoyed a two week Baltic cruise a year ago on the Star's virtually identical sister ship the Viking Sea, but were mildly disappointed on this repositioning cruise. Perhaps Viking is having some challenges keeping up with their rapid expansion. Perhaps nothing's quite as good the second time, even Viking's new Ocean Ships. Perhaps we shouldn't expect as much on a repositioning ...

Absolutely a Wonderful time

I absolutely loved the experience and everyone that worked to make my time enjoyable. From the moment we were greeted at the airport to how quick and painless the embarkation was. Once inside, the ship was breath taking and beautiful. The cabin and bath were fantastic, and our luggage arrived about 5 minutes after we did, with plenty of room for storage of our things. The Dining was simply over ...

Loved the ship

I chose this cruise because I have always wanted to go to Norway and to Barcelona so this turned out to be a cruise where I could do both. I also love England and was excited about going to two ports where I have never been before. I was especially excited about going to Falmouth (this was the most important port for me), which was unfortunately cancelled due to weather. The ship was beautiful ...

Good Experiences on board but booking needs improvement

Review for a Norwegian Fjords Cruise on Nordnorge

Having been on several cruises, we wanted to try a small ship and experience the Norwegian west coast fjords. The actual trip was a good experience with friendly crew members, interesting fellow travelers and the very majestic scenery. We had really good weather and were treated to the Northern Lights on several evenings. The Nordnorge was fun to sail on. However, I cannot be as positive ...

My wife and I are nearing retirement and fortunately still have our health. We chose this cruise, because of the itinerary: we started in Norway, and visited the Netherlands, Belgium, France, England, Portugal, finishing in Spain. This was interesting, and we visited many different and beautiful places. Our cabin, and the crew that supported us were top shelf. We probably will not go on a ...
