Carnival Splendor - Great Trip

Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on Carnival Splendor

Myself and my wife just got off the 4 night trip on the Splendor from NY to Saint John, Canada. This was our second cruise so we don't have much to compare it too but we thought this was a great relaxing trip. After an initial computer glitch on sign in things couldn't have been better. The boarding and disembarking in the port went very smooth. Our cabin was ready soon after ...

First the positive. Carnival lives up to its reputation of being a fun ship. The activities never stop and the members of the activities staff are excellent. Our cabin 8244 was very nice and there was plenty of storage space for all our clothes. Navigating the ship was easy. This a not a big ship but a spacious one. Information on the day's activities were delivered the evening before with a ...

This is my personal experience and opinion with Carnival! Three sisters looking forward to their first cruise vacation together. Very seasoned at cruising but wanted to try Carnival. Leaving out of NY was very convenient. We did have the priority check in which made the process easier. Cabin was wonderful, very spacious with lots of storage for the three of us. Cabin attendant, Sara was also ...

I am a dedicated carnival Cruiser. This trip was my 3rd of 4 this year, 29th in all since 2001. This trip we sailed out of NY to St. John's in Canada. I have been on the Splendor many times, " Swine flu turn around April,2009", Repeated the following year and finally made it to Mexico, April 2010. I have been on Cruises to Nowhere on this vessel. This trip was 6 ladies on a Bachlorette Get-A-Way. ...

Ship was not ready to cruise!

This cruise from the beginning was late. Late to depart, activities late or moved to a different venue, or cancelled without notice. Admittedly this was not an ordinary cruise, 4 days to St John, NB and it showed. Accommodations were ok, and room steward was very good. Meals were edible, but portions were crazy small. I should not have to order 3 entrees to get a meals worth of meat. ...

This was a cruise to celebrate our sister turning 60. I am not a germaphob, but first thing I notice was none of the purell pumps I touched worked. We left and Hour late no announcement as to why. Then customer service people extremely snippy when you asked a question. Buffet area filled with Dirty Dishes. Obviously not staffed very well. Decks were wet no one with a mop or anything to try ...

We traveled with two other couples and were told we would have adjoining balconies but did not. When we asked for the doors between the balconies to be opened we were told no. Our boarding passes stated we could smoke on our balconies but once we boarded we were told we could not and would be charged a very large refreshing fee if we were caught smoking on the balcony. Because our cruise ...

My husband and I booked this cruise as a quick 4 day getaway for us to celebrate good health, and some time away from our kids. It worked well with our schedules, and it left from NYC. Those were the main reasons for booking.....we've done the itinerary before, so we knew what to expect - the potential for cold and rain, and this cruise didn't disappoint! Embarkation: We decided to try ...

Overall this was a positive experience and great vacation for my family of 4. Positive: 1. We were in cabin 1117 on the spa deck. The spa privileges were worth the whole trip! Essential oils in the steam room, lemon water in the relaxation room and private access to the best hot tub thalassotherapy pool. 2. Balcony room gave us continual access to the sea. 3. Very cute Scottish ...

On our recent cruise on the Splendor we were very unimpressed with Carnival. Our suite was nice and spacious with a great size balcony. Bathroom could have used a better cleaning. Otherwise it was clean. Crew could use a little pick me up. They seemed liked they were just there to do a job and not smile or say acknowledge the guests. We would say hello, good morning just to be ignored. Breakfast ...
