Disappointing for a luxury line

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Seven Seas Grandeur

The Grandeur was our first experience sailing on a Regent ship. When deciding upon the cruise line for our long-awaited transit of the Panama Canal, we selected Regent because had heard good things and we thought it would be fun to try a brand new ship. We were disappointed. The ship itself is a marvel, better than other luxury lines we have sailed. The public spaces are large and inviting. The ...

I went with my cousin on this cruise from LA to Miami via the Panama Canal. Overall, it was fine, but definitely not the caliber of cruises I had taken in the past (pre-pandemic) with RCC. My opinions are as follows: Cabin: We had a junior suite, mid-ship, that met my expectation for space and comfort. The beds were very comfortable and the veranda had a lounger, which was nice to relax in. The ...

Oceania Vista, not up to par.

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Oceania Vista

I choose the Vista because of its new design and elegance. I was fully expecting to enjoy the high end Oceania service and quality, but mush to our disappointment it fell far short of the normal service and quality of food. I booked this on opening day over 2 years ago and was looking forward to this marvelous itinerary that showcase our ability to enjoy this brand new ship. Right of the bat the ...

Oceania standards have dropped

Wanted to transit through the Panama canal. Having been on Oceania before we were looking forward to this cruise. Previously we were really impressed with the service and food. Sadly Oceania's standards have dropped greatly. The quality of the staff on board is not very good. One is constantly trying to get service and often we have had to resort to find the restaurant manager and asking ...

Good, the bad and the ugly

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Norwegian Joy

My husband and I chose this cruise because we wanted to go through the new canal and end up in Miami to visit friends. The ugly, embarkation process was a joke. Many passengers did not get on the ship until late afternoon, total confusion by the staff at the terminal. Many staterooms were not ready until four. On many days staterooms were not cleaned until after two and sometimes later. We ...

We wanted to do the Panama Canal, so we booked this cruise. Shortly after booking it in September 2022 they cancelled stops in Costa Rica and Nicaragua without a reason or refund. Then in December they sent a notice stating the ship would sail from Berth 46 in Los Angeles. A google check showed that the berth had zero facilities which made no sense as it was the middle of winter. Even So Cal has ...

Not the cruise originally planned

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Norwegian Bliss

I chose this cruise since the Panama Canal was a bucket list along with going to Panama, Costa Rica and other countries. I booked this cruise April 2022. Approximately 10 days after final payment a new itinerary was sent out taking away Nicaraqua, Costa Rica and our 1 1/2 day in Panama reduced to 4-11 PM. No reason for this dramatic change and Acapulco and Ocho Rios was put in as replacements. No ...

Valiant Crew Trying to Overcome Cutbacks

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Norwegian Bliss

Overall, the cruise was enjoyable. The crew did their best despite recent staffing cuts. Ship’s officers (with a few exceptions) appeared wanting. One of the notable positive exceptions was Marites Sonza, who appeared to be everywhere attempting to make sure everything was flowing smoothly! A great itinerary was reduced by two desirable port calls being eliminated (explanation sounded like ...

We recently sailed on the bliss through the Panama Canal. From L.A. to Miami. Norwegian picked us up at the airport. The Staff were still learning the ropes. Some confusion about where to board the bus to the ship. Had to walk to a second area to reach the bus. Only one person was injured boarding the bus. As usual there were a lot of people waiting to board the ship. Embarking was not ...

Ship is not for us

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Insignia

User Avatar

We chose this cruise because of the itinerary (Panama Canal). We’ve heard great things about the R ships because of the size and we thought we’d do a comparison with the O ships as we have sailed with the Riviera last year. Insignia is too tired and could use a lot of makeover. Paint peeling, rusting, carpets buckling, smelly, you get the picture... We chose a penthouse suite because we ...
