I choose the Vista because of its new design and elegance. I was fully expecting to enjoy the high end Oceania service and quality, but mush to our disappointment it fell far short of the normal service and quality of food. I booked this on opening day over 2 years ago and was looking forward to this marvelous itinerary that showcase our ability to enjoy this brand new ship. Right of the bat the embarkment transfer from the airport to the ship was delayed. We were supposed to get on board between 11:30 and 12:00 due to our concierge level cabin, but we did not get to the ship until 12:45. The bus dropped us off over 200 away from the luggage drop off. Once we clear all the entry hurdles and got onboard there was no welcome aboard reception by any officers no welcome champagne.

Cabin was great and our Cabin Stewards were the highlight of the trip. They were warm and helpful and we spoke to them daily and got to know them like family.

Now the really bad news. Service in the terrace cafe was horrible. We had to wait for someone to come by and get our drinks like coffee, water, juices , etc… it was as of the service staff just stood around in groups at their stations and no one wanted to work the tables. The Sommeliers who were responsible in talking your alcohol orders barely came by and never twice on a regular bases. This is bad for those who had drink packages because you did not even come close to getting enough to break even through the day.

Cabin Review

Concierge Level Veranda Stateroom

A1 concierge cabin was roomy and comfortable. Cabin stewards were excellent. Again this was the only saving grace of this ship.

Port Reviews

San Diego

Docked next to the USS Midway, visited the ship. Excellent afternoon on the ship.

Puntarenas (Puerto Caldera)

Went to a jungle safari adventure. It was fun seeing large animals in an open truck being able to feed zebras and giraffes.
