We are experienced cruisers and haven’t sailed on an MSC ship since Feb 2013.
We are a family of 4 travelling with 2 children under 3.
Ship:
The ship, as many have said, is beautiful. You see something new every time you look.
There were a lot of families on board and we were thankful that out of the 7 days on board only one was a total wash out. There simply isn’t enough space ...
Had great cruise in 2018 with Norwegian on the epic. Was hoping for same on the Star.
The Star is smaller and was very clean.
Cabin staff were excellent.
Staff constantly yelling greetings at you everywhere you go. Had to ask a few to stop yelling at me. It’s sad because in their attempt to make you feel Welcome it becomes annoying and we just started to ignore them as the trip ...
We chose this cruise for the ports which were advertised to be in Belgium, France, Spain and Portugal. Portugal was removed from the itinerary before we sailed with no reason as to why. Le harve was also removed due to strike action at the port and whilst this is not the fault of NCL we did not get our port fees returned. Then the port for Bordeaux was cut short as there was no crane at the ...
First of all the staff were really great and the ship was always maintained in an immaculate condition. However, overall on this cruise what was supposed to be a cruise of a lifetime did not met our expectations in any way shape or form.
The air conditioning in our room worked intermittently and this was reported to the guest services several times. It kept us awake most evenings in very ...
Booked June 2022 as we wanted to be on away when it was my dads birthday (a year to the day on his birthday, my mum was taken into a Hospice terminally ill where she passed away soon after)
We needed 2 connecting twin cabins so my dad and my wife's mum (also recently widowed) could be with us. Idea was to have my wife and me booked into one cabin and my dad and my wife's mum in the other (on ...
We always cruise with NCL
They cater to my celiac diet, but my choices are less then before. You would think there would be more to choice from, with so many people with dietary needs on the rise.
Speak with a steward to let you know what is safe to eat. Order a GF pizza and go back to get it or they brought it to my table.
Brazilian restaurant, its so much fun.
The buffets have ...
I did the “behind the scenes tour” (pricey at £80 but very interesting) and found that they just over 4000 passengers on board - but the ship seemed ultra busy and crowded
When the shows finished at 9.40pm it was almost impossible to get a seat in the bars around the ship. This became such a problem that as the performer(s) were finishing their act people were rushing out the theatre which was ...
We were very disappointed with our cruise with the Norweigan Star. It was a 10 day crusie. We found a bed bug on our bed the second night. The staff claimed it is not a bed bug. The only person that apologized to us was Kristine the room attendant. Everyone else dismissed the issue and acted like nothing happened. We had to push them to wash our clothes for us free (after asking 4 times). Also ...
TLDR: Beautiful modern ship. Expensive. Below average food quality. Restaurant service is bordering on rude. Constant cash-grab. No adult-only pools/hot-tubs. 'The Retreat' is a rip-off. The 'My Holiday' app is hopeless but necessary to book everything.
The Iona is a beautiful. modern cruise ship. The staterooms are bright and airy - perhaps a little smaller than other P&O ship according to ...
It was difficult to name my review as we experienced a mixed bag of emotions on our cruise.
On the whole we enjoyed it, but there were a number of things that could have been done better by the company which would have given them extra stars.
Embarkation was very good. We boarded the ship in no time and I was impressed by the staff in the terminal managing the flows of passengers. Some well ...
