First of all the staff were really great and the ship was always maintained in an immaculate condition. However, overall on this cruise what was supposed to be a cruise of a lifetime did not met our expectations in any way shape or form.
The air conditioning in our room worked intermittently and this was reported to the guest services several times. It kept us awake most evenings in very uncomfortable heat. There was a total of 3 stops cancelled. Le Harve (Paris), Porto (Portugal), Guernsey. Out of the total stops this ruined our trip spending way more time on board than we had wished. On one of the evenings I ordered a drink from the bar, it tasted funny – I subsequently checked the date and it was out of date from the 30th August 2022. I brought this to our waiter’s attention who subsequently reported it to the Manager who apologised and thanked me for letting him know. On many if not all of our stop the shuttle buses were at best chaotic. There was always extremely long lines to access the buses. In most cases we just made our own way into town. Also, on one of the days we were left waiting 3 hours for a crane to arrive to let us off. The food apart from the speciality dining was of a very poor standard. The entertainment especially the theatre shows were very poor. There was up charging for everything which as a “free at sea” package did not leave a good taste i.e when you top up at the casino there is an additional charge, when you buy wifi for $75 (100 minutes) there is another fee of $3.95, 20% charge here and there and of course the compulsory gratuities of $16 a day per person.
This is not the NCL we know - penny pinching, trying to make money back while not looking at the bigger picture. In its current state and taking all things into consideration I will not be sailing every again with NCL.
