This was our fourth NCL cruise, but the first for quite a while preferring Celebrity and RCL but this itinerary included many of our “bucket list” ports, including Reykjavik and Lerwick (Shetland).
It is very obvious that they are understaffed, and undertrained. The front-line help is courteous enough but not prepared or allowed to problem solve. There is lack of communication between ...
We chose this cruise because I’d always wanted to go to Iceland, also another chance for celebrity to redeem itself after a very disappointing cruise round the Caribbean in February.
We have been loyal cruisers with Celebrity for years attaining Elite Plus status, sadly it’s time to say goodbye. It started with our balcony cabin, items from the previous occupants were left in the wardrobe. No ...
Picked this cruise because we wanted to go to Iceland.
First given a dirty room made to wait inside for 3 hours to find a replacement
Trips were expensive if the boat decided To stop somewhere
First port was tender badly organised took 5 hours to get off the boat
Then they started altering the ports ended up only half a day in Reykjavík and cancelling Guernsey.
Food wasn’t great ...
I wanted to do another UK cruise go to places like Shetland and Newcastle as I’m a fan of the TV shows and also Liverpool as I had not been there. I’m just about through with long haul flights so I tried to book on the Iceland/Greenland tour but at the time (Feb), I was told all the solo cabins had been sold. I waited about 5 weeks and cabins became available again and I was able to book that tour ...
We haven’t cruised with Princess for the best part of 10 years, and never on the Island Princess.
Shes a classic style cruise liner and on the larger size of what we have been used to recently.
Embarking was quick and flawless at Southampton and we were in our cabin before 1pm.
An inside cabin to the rear of deck B, not far from the rear lifts and stairs. The “stateroom” was a good size ...
t I travel with my partner Janet. We chose this cruise for the itinerary. 33 days with ports in Iceland and Norway. The Island Princess seemed to be the perfect way to visit the northern ports and June the perfect season to do so. This is not the review I had hoped to write when we made the reservations. The disappointment was not with the itinerary, but the ship. No, not even the ship, but ...
This review is for the 33 day cruise, not just the part the CC system would recognize. I chose this cruise because it went to a much desired destination: Longyearbyen (Svalbard), an island north of the Arctic Circle belonging to Norway. I booked in February when I saw I could book a 33 day cruise out of Ft. Lauderdale to Southhampton to Norway and back to Southhampton. Not long after final ...
Swimming in the aft pool on Deck 8, it was difficult to believe that we had reached the Arctic Circle with an air temperature of 27c and the water a pleasantly warm 24. For the entire cruise, the weather remained the same - how I regretted wasting space with gloves and base layers!
This 12-day cruise offers plenty of opportunities to discover Norway and my overriding memory will be of the ...
I liked the ports of call.
Edinburgh,Orkney,Shetland then onto Norway finishing in the arctic circle.
I booked this cruise while on the Norwegian Dawn on a previous cruise. It was a good price taking into account the 200 pounds cash back for booking with the Nextcruise deck.
I took the drinks package which also included 300 min wifi and 2 speciality restaurant meals which was also good ...
I cruised with Norwegian about 7 years ago we booked a suite, had a butler it was a wonderful experience. This time so disappointed. First the butler service was very disappointing and I do not blame the butler they have them covering more rooms than ever and assign them many other tasks, they are overworked to the max when you ask for something special you almost here them sigh. My last cruise ...
