Great way to experience coastal Norway

Review for a Norwegian Fjords Cruise on Maud

Hurtigruten’s “Expedition” series cruises are half-way between a traditional cruise and an adventure expedition. The food is top class, plentiful and well managed but the choice of restaurants, bars and dining experiences is limited. The on-board entertainment centres around lectures, craft activities etc and there are no “shows” or anything of the like. There is no casino. The focus is on ...

One of the best cruises I have been on.

I wanted to see the Northern Lights and the Norwegian fjords and felt Hurtigruten was the best company to provide this. Furthermore, Hurtigruten offers a free 7 day cruise if the Northern Lights are not seen. Hurtigruten did not disappoint. We saw the Northern Lights on two occasions and with Hurtigruten's long experience sailing in the Norwegian fjords the crew was able to avoid bad weather ...

Excellent cruise

Although we have been on 30 cruises with various cruise lines, this was our first experience with Fred Olsen and it certainly won't be our last. From the moment of embarkation to disembarking everything was handled smoothly and with professionalism. Staff went out of their way to go the extra mile, always with a happy smile. Food in the main restaurant was exceptional, far superior to other major ...

An incredible experience!

Review for a Arctic Cruise on Maud

We chose Hurtigruten because we'd never go on a " traditional" cruise. Huge ships, thousands of people, casinos, theatres, dancing, loud music, bingo, posh clothes for dinner is just not us. We do like walking, exploring new places, the natural world, photography. I'm also not keen on flying, so when we found that Hurtigruten now has MS Maud based in Dover, running trips around western ...

“Expedition” cruise from Dover to Svalbard

Review for a Arctic Cruise on Maud

If anyone is thinking of booking the same trip I thought I’d set out our views, just in case it helps someone decide whether to take it or not. I know some people loved it but I also know my views were shared by some other passengers on the trip. I will explain the “expedition” later, but following 2 covid cancelled MS Spitzbergen trips (Svalbard and Iceland) we booked the September 2022 ...

A brilliant experience

Review for a Norwegian Fjords Cruise on Bolette

I recently enjoyed a 7-nights cruise aboard Fred. Olsen's Bolette to Oslo and some fjords. It was my first trip out of the country since a cruise aboard Boudicca in February 2020 and therefore my very first cruise aboard Bolette. Like many other people I had grown very fond of both Black Watch and Boudicca but as they were approaching their 50th birthdays one knew that they would not be around ...

Fun for the grandkids

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Disney Magic

Chosen to take grand children on a holiday, originally intended to be 2 years ago but deferred because of Covid. Although Disney Magic is the oldest in the fleet, she is an elegant well appointed ship of a comfortable size, there were 2100 guests on board for this sailing, neatly full. Firstly the gripes: Disney’s chosen health partner Prenetics need to up their game and improve the website. ...

first cruise - very disappointing

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Bolette

I chose this cruise as it fitted in with school holidays and it was planned as a treat for my grandchildren. I booked a family cabin for my 2 granddaughters and myself and a separate cabin for my son - very expensive as charged full cost although obviously only half use of facilities and food. The family cabin was very cramped with uncomfortable beds. My son had to move cabins twice because of ...

Annoying emails about wheelchair and disembarkation nightmare

Review for a Europe - All Cruise on Carnival Pride

User Avatar

Chose this cruise for its itinerary and price. Guest service kept annoying and harassing me about the wheelchair from day one. I kept explain it was a collapsible wheelchair and that I could still walk to the water shuttles but they kept sending emails and harassing me even after I emailed their president Ms Christine Duffy and after I was already on the ship. Carnival needs to learn how to treat ...
