If anyone is thinking of booking the same trip I thought I’d set out our views, just in case it helps someone decide whether to take it or not. I know some people loved it but I also know my views were shared by some other passengers on the trip.

I will explain the “expedition” later, but following 2 covid cancelled MS Spitzbergen trips (Svalbard and Iceland) we booked the September 2022 cruise from Dover up the coast, and over to Svalbard (only done twice a year) – I need to stress that this was the ONLY reason for choosing this trip, we’d previously considered doing a coastal journey but thought that taking the 3 week trip to combine the two would give us the best of both worlds.

I should also add we’re not regular cruisers but will cruise if it’s the best way to see a place. We will book future cruises, including small boat expedition cruises, but definitely not a Hurtigruten “expedition” cruise again.

Cabin Review

Was great being able to access the outside top deck (9) so easily for scenery and wildlife viewings. Also nice to be able to get fresh air at times.
