We chose Hurtigruten because we'd never go on a " traditional" cruise. Huge ships, thousands of people, casinos, theatres, dancing, loud music, bingo, posh clothes for dinner is just not us.
We do like walking, exploring new places, the natural world, photography.
I'm also not keen on flying, so when we found that Hurtigruten now has MS Maud based in Dover, running trips around western Britain, to Norway and beyond, we did some research and booked to go to Svalbard and Norway.
Our cabin (704) had a comfortable double bed, a large round window, ample storage space for clothes and bathroom items, two chairs, a desk/vanity area, TV, phone, safe, fridge, tea and coffee making facilies, hairdryer and a bag and price list for laundry
THe shower room was very well organised and spcious though compact. High quality handsoap, hair& body wash and hair conditioner were provided, with a hand and bath towel per person and a foot mat.
