While I almost saw that coming given what was going on in the rather stressed out area, H-A Lines decided to pull out of all the Turkish port of calls in the very last days just prior. We're around 70, have lived abroad, and use cruises primarily to visit interesting ports and meet interesting people. We have no interest in the shows on board and avoid the casino and pools. My wife and I traveled on the Venice to Barcelona cruise on the Nieuw Amsterdam on May 16th.
This was our third cruise on Holland America and we expected a special cruise. Unfortunately it was a disappointment.

We are regular cruisers and have been on the Nieuw Amsterdam and the Westerdam, as well as several ships from other companies.
This was a 22 night cruise from Venice to Barcelona, and was very port intensive.
