I hadn't inquired as to the size of the ship, so this is on me. I'm used to the smaller ships. Too many people. I'd meet lovely people and then never see them again. I was berthed in the rear of the ship, and was exhausted by the time I reached the front to disembark. The Exploration Cafe (at first, I couldn't find the library--then was told that it is all part of a larger whole) could only be reached by the front elevators. Front desk by the middle elevators. So from now on I'll stick to The Rotterdam, Prinsendam and Amsterdam.
That said, the staff and crew were (as always on HAL) outstanding. The food very very good--just don't order the short ribs with bloodwurst. I'm a 5-star Mariner, and took advantage of the free laundry. My things came back within 14 hours. So, if you want a mid-size ship, this is for you--just don't book a cabin in the rear.
My stewards were excellent.
