Zuiderdam Sept 13, 2018 10-day Colors of Canada & New England Cruise

Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on Zuiderdam

We chose this cruise because we wanted to explore New York for 3 days prior to embarking on our cruise. Embarkation did not go smoothly as we had to utilize Brooklyn Terminal instead of the original Manhatten terminal as the Zuiderdam had sustained some damage and had to be repaired in the Brooklyn Terminal. This made our cab fare more from our hotel where we stayed for 3 nights to the terminal ...

First Time HAL Disappointed Us

We've been on about 5 cruises with HAL because we feel they offer good value for the price as well as good service, food and itineraries. This time we were very disappointed in our cabin which was supposed to be only partially obstructed but turned out to be fully obstructed by machinery and a tender boat. We were also very disappointed with the food quality which we would rate mediocre at best. ...

We have always cruised with Princess, but decided we would try Holland, because pricing was more reasonable. If this is your first time with Holland, and we did the colours tour of eastern Cananda and Quebec. We started in New York. Best part of this cruise was old Quebec. There are a few things one needs to know. We were unsure of their tipping policy until we received a copy of our bill. ...

OUTDATED SHIP AND OUTDATED CATERING

We have selected this cruise as understood of good standing ( for the price paid in Europe !) and a good vessel . We have been badly surprised to have to find verandah cabins totally worn out wih bathrooom facilities totally 'used up ' . Swimmingpool very average and surrounding whirl pools hardly working at all .This vessel has moreover no central attractive atrium place as most vessels ...

Not Up to Par

Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on Eurodam

This was our fourth cruise on Holland America, and we have always been very pleased. Unfortunately, both the ship and the crew were well below the superior quality we have come to expect from Holland America. We had a Verandah Suite. The verandah doors were dirty and never cleaned during the cruise. The carpet was stained, and something that looked like mold was along two to three feet of the ...

As with most things there was some good and some bad on this cruise. The embarkation was a total nightmare. First off, when we arrived at the terminal there was a mile long line of passengers with their luggage waiting to get into the terminal. You could not drop your luggage with the porters until you reached ther front of the line. Every other cruise I have been on you were allowed to drop your ...

Disappointed in Holland America and the Eurodam

We have cruised exclusively with Holland America, always in a Deluxe Verandah Suite, because we like the service and the accommodations. However, we have just returned from a 10-day New England/Canada cruise and were terribly disappointed. The Eurodam is only three years old but looks like a ship that has been in service for 10-15 years with no major maintenance. We were shocked and ...

Disappointing 3 night Intro Cruise

Embarkation: It was interesting. We were not supposed to be able to board until 3 PM, but there was speculation it would be earlier. We took a chance (and earlier train) by arriving early, and were onboard just before 1:30. That was a nice start. Everyone was being sent to the Lido (Deck 9) to eat lunch, but we walked up the 2 decks to Deck 4 and went to our aft Veranda cabin. We met our cabin ...

Our last 4 cruises have been on RCCL Voyager, Caribbean Princess, Carnival Conquest, and now HAL Noordam. Before every cruise I read every review understanding that there will be some cruisers that never complain and unfortunately some that are never happy. Anyone that has ever read my posts know I have often said we have never met a cruise we did not enjoy and we never let a negative ruin our ...

Background: We are a party of 5 - 68, 67, 49, 44, 13. The seniors in our group have been on 20+ cruises and the three of us have been on 10+. We've all sailed Carnival, HAL, Princess, Celebrity, Costa, RCCL & NCL. First let me start by saying this ship lists passenger total to approximately 1900 people. Our sailing had 2200 with over 500 kids. Embarkation: This was a smooth and organized ...
