I have been on several cruises in the Caribbean but I chose this one for the itinerary of Panama Canal and South America.
I was pleasantly surprised how fast embarkation process was, no wonder since I spent hours downloading all necessary documents and photos on the Princess App beforehand. My only complaint there was no wi-fi at the Terminal at Ft. Lauderdale so I could not open the App. I ...
This was our 17th cruise on many different lines (Carnival, Celebrity, Cunard, Holland America, NCL and Royal Caribbean) and wanted to try Princess to see if it’s any better.
We flew from Ontario to Ft. Lauderdale the day before the cruise and stayed at the Hampton Inn Airport North which was great.
Embarkation/Disembarkation –The embarkation was delayed by almost 2 hours due to a Norovirus ...
We chose this cruise because 4 of the 6 people in our group had never seen the Panama Canal. The itinerary wasn't all that great but the canal was the highlight of the trip. The first stop was Falmouth, Jamaica. Nothing much to report here since we had all been to Jamaica before so got off walked around and back on again. Next stop was Cartagena, had never been here so booked a hop on hop off ...
To put this review in perspective, just five weeks before this cruise we'd been to a river cruise on the Nile in Egypt. So any review after that may pale in comparison. That being said, this cruise was very nice in where the ship stopped for tours.
We've been on a cruise to the Caribbean before but to different stops along the way. This cruise is listed as a ten day trip which is true enough ...
We chose this trip because we live where it's cold and it was on sale with extra perks from prestigecruises.com. We are not exclusive on what cruise line we travel with. Our embarkation time was 1:00 but it appeared we could have come sooner. We sailed right through because I'd done everything to get us in the green line on line before the trip and our medallions had been mailed to us. Our room ...
We selected this cruise when our full transit Panama Canal cruise was cancelled in 2021. Although we were not thrilled to cruise on an older ship, and had heard negative reviews about her, we decided to give it a try.
The itinerary was supposed to include Jamaica, Costa Rica, Cartagena, Panama Canal, and Grand Cayman. Due to a Cuban refugee rescue we missed Jamaica, and due to weather ...
Overall it was a good cruise. The ships indoor public areas were very nice and had been updated. We typically cruise on Celebrity and liked how the bars and different venues on the Caribbean Princess were more separated and seemed more intimate. The outside pool areas were nice but could use some updating. We enjoyed the four different pool areas. Two of the pool areas are adult only which is ...
I opted for this cruise over the holidays to see the Panama Canal for the first time. I was also excited to visit Cartagena, Columbia and Costa Rica as well. We used the bidding system to upgrade from a balcony to a Club Class Mini-Suite. Given the length of the cruise and the number of sea days, we were very happy for the upgrade. Club Class allowed for us to board early, have a larger cabin ...
REASONS FOR PICKING:
1. Never seen Panama Canal or South America before, so those were
2. Needed a holiday season cruise and on short notice.
3. Have cruised many times, but never with Princess. Wanted to see how it stacked up for vs its sister line Carnival or vs other premium lines like Holland
WHAT WENT RIGHT:
1. Planning the cruise was easy
2. Getting on and off the ship was ...
My husband and I traveled to the Panama Canal cruise w/ Princess. I am in a wheelchair and require a wheelchair accessible cabin and I would like to have access to all or most of the ship as other passengers do. We had a fantastic time!!! This is my 10th cruise, husbands 3rd. The food at the specialty restaurants were great and tasty. The dining room was good but wished it had a couple of more ...
