What I expect from Celebrity is first class service, excellent ships, excellent food, and so-so entertainment. The service was excellent. The staff was very professional and friendly. No complaints in this department. Getting on and off the ship was very smooth with virtually no waits or delays -- the terminal at Fr. Lauderdale knows what it's doing. The quality of the dining, however, has ...
We enjoyed our cruise, but for the first time since the pandemic (8th cruise since pandemic) we saw a noticeable decline in the quality of the food and food choices on Celebrity. The service overall was outstanding--other than at the buffet---not one time did anyone approach us about getting us a drink during our meal, the selections the one night we went there for dinner was truly awful (and ...
After half a dozen cruises with X with falling standards, we went to another company for 2 cruises but decided to give them another chance. Happy to say that in the main, things had got better.
Embarkation was good with the exception of needing to show paper copies of Esta, which neither couple knew about. Although I had copies on my phone I needed to locate them but wasn’t given a chance, with ...
After 22 Celebrity cruises it was an almost automatic choice.
We have always been delighted with the quality of food on Celebrity cruises. This time the food in the main dining room was mediocre at best and nowhere near what we were accustomed to. Even the speciality restaurants had lost any wow factor. As usual, all waiting staff were excellent but it must have been a challenge to stay ...
The ship is beautiful. We didn't eat in any of the restaurants you had to pay extra for, but the 4 main dining rooms were excellent. The Oceanview grill, the buffet restaurant, was great any time of the day. The pizza station smelled great, but not that tasty. They had a burger eatery ,the burgers were very good. Desserts were very delicious. We had an inside room that was very spacious ,with a ...
We are three couples in our late 50s with lots of cruising experience on other lines [RC, Carnival and Disney] as well as once before on the Edge. Our experience on the Ascent really topped every one of our prior cruises by a long shot. We kept walking around saying "wow this is so nice" ... to the service, the ship, the food, and the entertainment. I'm afraid we are spoiled for all future ...
We wanted to cruise on the Ascent since it was new and we'd heard nice things. We've cruised with Celebrity before as well as Holland America, Princess, Viking and Silver Sea so we are not strangers to sailing. We had a Sky Suite and weren't very impressed with the size at all. Room walls were creaky-enough noise to keep us awake, nightstands had no drawers, in the shower the soaps, shampoos, ...
This is a beautiful, modernly decorated ship with great spaces, excellent food, and high energy activities.
First, the ship is incredibly laid out and decorated. Even on sea days with beautiful weather, there was always a place where you could find peace and quiet. The promenade on deck five is a great space to take a walk and is almost never populated.
Our inside accessible cabin was well ...
Embarkation
Embarkation was very simple. We walked right in around 11:00, waited mere seconds in line for the X-Ray, then walked right up to a boarding agent. A few seconds of paperwork and we were allowed to begin the trek to the ship.
Total time: less than 10 minutes from entering the terminal to standing on the ship.
Dining
We were Aqua Class, so we took most ...
This was the first time cruising with Celebrity as our son was getting married on St. Thomas. We heard from so many people that Celebrity (Apex) is a step up from Royal Caribbean (which we have always cruised with) and that the food and service was so much better. Naturally our expectations were very high........boy were we DUPED! The service on this ship was pretty much non-exsistant. Service ...
