Wanted to see the Hubbard Glacier. Had previously seen the Glacier bay (a previous cruise pre Covid) and it was a waste of time. Simply not worth seeing Glacier Bay) Hubbard glacier met expectations .
Cruise was uneventful. Entertainment /shows were decent to good .
The Shopping mall floor was Annoying at best. Constant in yer face sales efforts. Also surprised at the numbers of people ...
This was our second time on a cruise and the first time on celebrity. To say the ship was dated and worn would be an understatement. Our cabin was an aft sunset verandah worth every penny for the view alone.
There were at least ten cases of COVID on our ship; no one was wearing a mask, only the staff.
Service was good, but there was an obvious language problem several times, but they did try ...
This is our third Alaskan cruise chosen to take some friends on their first, but they for Covid and missed it. We have sailed with Celebrity many times before and except for smaller ships like Azamara, it’s our favourite.
Firstly, Eclipse is NOT one of the ships that has been “revolutionised”, i.e. upgraded with features from Edge and that was a disappointment. It feels like most other cruise ...
We chose this cruise based on the land tour option (that option gets 2 stars, as it was a shoddy haphazard attempt to piece together a land tour that fell way short…I will write a separate review… but know this… Princess & Holland America have the land tour down pat!)
Now onto the Millenium review:
The good… food…. Excellent creative meal options..e.g., Poached Lobster Tail in a Champagne ...
I chose Celebrity after being bumped at the last minute from a June 1 sailing of Cunard's Queen Elizabeth due to "staffing issues", despite being a Cunard Platinum World Club member. I chose Celebrity over Princess and Holland America because Celebrity is supposedly a "cut above" Princess in particular. (Tried Princess twice .. never again!)
PRICE: I feel like I got a pretty good deal on a ...
Wanted to do Alaska & it finally happened. Living in BC it meant no flights for our first time back to cruising post Coivd.
Embarkation was a breeze from the port of Vancouver and there were 3 ships in port. Lots of helpful people guiding you to your ship. If you had all your docs in order it took us 30 minutes from porter to cabin.
We enjoyed the Rock City show, the Martini Bar, our waiter ...
We chose the cruise as part of a 5 week trip round Canada, originally due to travel in Sep `21, cruise was recommended by Trailfinders as it fitted in with the rest of the trip. Our first experience of Celebrity
Not a great first impression, lots of pre-boarding emails with reminders to provide vaccination proof, have a test before boarding and complete the online check in and upload id, ...
Second time to Alaska, but first time on Celebrity. The ship is in great shape with the only exception being the mini bars. In most cases, based on our informal elevator survey these can't be called refrigerated at all. If you need that for medical or other reasons be aggressive early. They don't have spare units or anyone that can fix them as best we can tell. Even with all the empty rooms ...
We boarded Celebrity Eclipse in Honolulu for a tour of the Hawaiian Islands.
We paid full price for a Balcony room and were a little disappointed to find all the passengers who booked inside cabins were given free upgrades to balcony rooms because the ship was only at 50% capacity. I also have a severe gluten allergy and I was disappointed at the lack of choice of gluten free options. The ...
But then only 600 ppeople on the ship.Check in was a bit of a hassle. Had to show documents three times to three different people. But at least we made it.we Booked Aqua Blue. Enjoyed the cabin and the new shower door compared to Princess Shower curtains. Also remodel really has made the room very nice. The sofa was a plus, especially sine Princess has removed any seating in Balcony cabins below ...
