We had a blast and enjoyed everything. Can’t want to go again! We really enjoyed the theater every night. Kevin was our cruise director and he was so good and funny. The food was awesome. I have nothing bad to say! There is always something to do. Between the movies on deck 9 and the theater. Also there is a lot for the kids to do. Getting on the ship wasn’t a problem. We boarded at 12 and was actually on the boat at 11:30. They got us check in early. Cause we were there early. It was so peaceful. You never feel the boat move unless the wind at night is a little strong. But still it was lovely and run! I’m actually planning another one. Both my bartender at the red frog and the casino knew what i wanted to drink and i never had to remind them. They were awesome and sweet. Would call you by name and even set and talk with you for a while, when they could. Read Less

The Carnival Glory was an excellent ship experience right down to the service for the dining room with our cruise servers Savio, Cassandra and Pavu. They gave us top notch service every single night. Then our stateroom steward Indra was great at keeping our room clean. We did three excursions in Hondorous, Belize, and Cozumel. We celebrated our grandsons birthday on the ship and they gave him special treatment with a cake and a gift from Dr. Seuss characters. We attended the Dr. Seuss breakfast which was a great time and breath taking decorations. My other two grandkids loved everything and my little granddaughter was loved on by all the staff. My only complaint would be my daughter was told that my granddaughter who is 15 months old could not swim unless she was potty trained, but after we talked with the service desk it was fixed. Also the shows at night were so good, the dancers and singers held your attention to the fullest. It was a great time on Glory, so sad to leave and I would do it all over again. Thank you for a fantastic time Carnival Glory and all the staff! We love you! Read Less

If you are looking for a relaxing cruise and a great price and fun port, then I would recommend the Valor. I have over 125 cruise days with Carnival on 14 of their ships. I have never had a problem on any cruise. This was our first time on the Valor. Since we love visiting New Orleans, it seemed like the perfect time to bring my Mother-In-Law on her first cruise. Getting to the Port took a lot longer because of road construction and the Essence Festival activities. Regardless, we made it during our assigned time and walked onto the ship in about 10 minutes. While the Valor is older, it does have some of the food venus of the new ships. The big piece missing was water works which would have been nice as it would have given people more places to cool off as this was hot and humid cruise. Every place we ate was great. We never have any complaints about the food. We can always find something we like. We had anytime seating for dinner. There was never a wait the service was great as usual. While lines did form in the Lido dining area on port stops, if you took the time to walk around, you would find a line that had little to no waiting. We hit some of the triva in the Atrium bar. The fun squad did a great job even though my oldest and I bombed the country music one however we did do pretty good in the Big Bang contest. The Lido deck competions were fun as usual. Unfortunitly rain hit so they had to canecel some of them and move Cruie for St. Jude inside. They were still able to raise more than a $1000 though which is good. We ordered room service a few times and the wait was no longer than 20 minutes. We also used the Carnival Hub app for pizza delivery. I think it took 15 minutes and the pizza was nice and hot. I hit the first family friendly comedy show and my family made the second one. Both comendians were good even. The musicians around the ship were great. Usually I find one on each cruise that I prefer to listen too but all were very good so I did not stick to one particular group. I hit the gym a several times. The first sea day was busy in the morning but the rest of the time it was easy to get in for a work out and not have to wait for any of the machines The staff was great and always there to help. It is very rare that I go to guest services unless I am adding a gift card to my sail and sign account. This time we had to check out a medical cooler to store my daughters perscription. We also had a couple of reusable ice packs that we needed to keep frozen. We were able to switch them out through out the cruise. They just put our cabin number on them. We had to deal with Tropical Storm Berry on the last day which resulted in us getting diverted to Mobile. They had over a hundred buses waiting to get us back to New Orleans. We were off the ship and on our way back to NOLA by 7:00AM. We dropped pur luggage off at our planned hotel for the night around 10:00AM. Not bad all things considered. Read Less

We are repeat customers. Our son turned 21 and wanted to go to New Orleans. My husband doesn't care for New Orleans so a cruise from New Orleans was the perfect option. Carnival never disappoints. The cruise director, Dustin was always positive and got the crowd motivated. The dining room staff Eko, Dominique and Cipta were always on point! Embarkation was amazingly smooth. The ladies directing cruise traffic needs to work on their Customer Service. They were a little too sassy and not in a funny way!! Customer Service should mean "friendly". This is the first impression of your experience. The comedians were great!! June reminded everyone that they were on vacation, love each other and have fun. I think the reminder always goes far!! I wish there were more dancing type shows on the ship. The Roatan excursion to see the kayaking, snorkeling, parrots and monkeys was the best! Monkeys make everything better!! The Tubing and lunch excursion in Belize had an extremely long ride. The long ride for the short "guided" tubing experience was nothing I would recommend. All in all it was a fantastic experience on board!!! Read Less

We went with 3 dear close friends on a 5 day from New Orleans. We had an excellent time. Tony our Steward was excellent and took great care of us !! Food outlets and restaurants as well steak house were great, We loved Café Denis in Cozumel but stayed on ship in Progresso as its too far to go anywhere in our opinion. The folks at The Alchemy Bar especially EDUARDO were fabulous !! Great service and great fun !! Didn't care for the comedian but that's a personal taste. Many enjoyed the show. We would sail it again. The Love and Marriage show was fun but not LGBTQ friendly in terms of having a same sex couple up there. There were numerous gay couples on board, and a diverse crowd. Everyone got along and there were no issues on board except a late fire alarm that I didn't hear about thanks to a few too many XO Martinis. I love the glory and would sail it again. Its an easy ship to navigate and not too large. Its starting to show its age a touch but Im sure Carnival will refurbish it within a few years. We loved it and I recommend it. Read Less

This is my 5th Carnival Cruise out of New Orleans and the first time on The Glory. Embarkation was smooth. Make sure you have your paperwork out and ready. This was my first time to have cash only on my sign and sail card. I used Gift Cards and I was amazed over how easy it was. Before boarding, you go to a desk and they put it on your S&S card for you. We had Faster to the Fun so we arrived at the port at 10:00 a.m. and was on the ship and in our room by 11:00 a.m. Our cabin was 1111. The room Steward Adrian was the best Steward we have ever had. He kept ice in our bucket and the cabin clean. We kept the curtains pulled during the day, so the cabin stayed very cool. The balcony does not have a cover over the top and the Serenity Deck can look down on you. Other than this, it's an excellent cabin and location. It is just steps from the lido and it is very quiet. We also had the CHEERS package and found that the drinks seemed to be watered down, except for at the Alchemy Bar. We had anytime dining and discovered that by arriving at 5:45, there was not a wait for a table. The Seafood shack was excellent and worth the up-charge. On Embarkation day, I highly suggest that you eat at the BBQ place. There wasn't anyone there but us. The shows were very good and entertaining. The Comedy Club was fun, but crowded so get there early. The ship itself was easy to navigate around and there was never much of a wait at the elevators or bars like other ships we have been on. We were there during the school year so there were very few kids on board, which left the water slide to us. It was so much fun and I highly recommend it for all ages. (We are in our 50's) We will certainly sail on The Glory again. Read Less

My husband, myself, our daughter and 4 yr old grandson went on this cruise. I was nervous if we’d like it, but it proved to be an excellent vacation. We spent one day in New Orleans, stopping at the aquarium. It’s the best aquarium i’ve Ever visited, and worth the cost of admission. The ship is large enough to have much to see and explore but not so large that a person would feel overwhelmed. Since we had a suite, we had priority boarding which made the boarding process much easier when traveling with a child. We had cabin 7312, a grand suite, and there was plenty of room and storage for 4 people. B/c this cabin is mid ship, it’s a convenient walk to either elevator. Our Stewart was Erfron, who was excellent. The location was quiet. About the only negative is one closet door stuck slightly and didn’t glide as easily as the others. We ate a few times in the MDR, and was pleased with the food and excellent service. We had “my time” dining and had several waiters who gave extra attention to our grandson (which warms my heart ❤️); they were Yudi, Fernando, Sevin, and Gusti. It’s not easy for a 4 yr old to seat thru dinner, but they kept him entertained and made our trip so very special. We tried various other dining during the week. Magnolia Wok was good. The pizza was ok ( pizza was good, made to order, but I prefer thick crust). Guy’s burgers were yummy, and the fries to die for. My husband tried the deli and Pig & anchor, and thought both was good. Pasta Bella was tasty. We ate quite a bit at the Lido buffet and enjoyed each meal. Blue iguana was probably my favorite. Between the 4 of us, we visited Swirls daily, and it was delicious. We missed the show we wanted to see (80’s pop) due to lack of available seats (we arrived late). We did attend the Dr. Seuss parade. Although our grandson was too shy to volunteer for a role, he enjoyed watching it. He loved picking his build a bear a animal (bunny). In the evening we sat on Lido and watched dive in theatre. We all enjoyed the Green Eggs & Ham breakfast; Yudi and Sevin again made him feel special. Ports- Jamaica we visited Dolphin Encounter, which we liked; it’s clean, set up well, organized and a cute park. Our dolphin was Alex. We also went into a shallow lagoon and touched a sting ray. The ride was maybe 20 minutes to get there. We then went to Doctor’s Cave beach. It’s a nice beach for kids (level & calm), the sand is soft but Its in the middle of a resort area and I was hoping for a more natural/secluded beach. Grand cayman- we went to the turtle farm. We loved this park; very clean and laid out well. We snorkeled with the turtles, saw a shark, and swam in the pool area. There’s so much to do there I wish we had more time to see it all. We then took the bus to a boat and went to stingray sand bar....it was awesome! The water was crystal clear and the rays were amazing. Cozumel- we did a little shopping before our tour at the dolphin encounter (dolphinaria?). Once again, the park was clean and we enjoyed our visit. This tour included lunch, which tasted good. Otherwise we spent our time in the pools, hot tub and our grandson on the small sliding board. Again b/c we had priority boarding, disembarkation was smooth. We all had a great week and are already talking about booking another cruise Read Less

First and foremost let's start with the embarkation process. This being my first carnival Cruise and my first cruise out of the Port of New Orleans I was pleasantly surpised how efficiently my party of six got through the process. I should note we had the 11:30am check in. When we arrived prior to our boarding time we were greeted with happy employees who were already pushing people through from 12:30 block. Needless to say this didn't negatively effect our process as we were on promptly. As we entered the ship we took the opportunity to begin to utilize our Cheers drink package. Our experience as a group was that the cheers package was an excellent addition for our cruise experience. We became regulars at the alchemy bar were Ed our go to bartender had us drinking some great cocktails. My group's only complaint from the Cheers package was being blindsided by the extra charges while still in Louisanna waters. Granted it was negligible but it was still an annoying factor in the beginning and end of our alcohol experience. After enjoying a few beverages we had the opportunity to check out our cabins. I was pleasantly surpised with the size of the cabin. We we're lucky enough to be told to bring a surge protector to get more outlets and USB fans in case the rooms were a little warm. We had two rooms for our party of six and one room was perfectly air-conditioned at all times the other ran warm. That being my only complaint the bathroom was nice and the cabin all and all was nice. Food experience My group was lucky to have let me do a lot of research prior to getting on the carnival glory. We had a nice game plan that allowed us to attack carnival glory with a great plan. We spent every dinner at the main Dining room except for two (chefs table and emerald steakhouse). Our main dining room experience was excellent our server, Red , knew our name before we finished our first meal and was excellent at getting us whatever we asked for promptly. His team also had our go to drinks ready to go every day. The food was good and we never left hungry. We did go to the main dining room on sea days for the sea day brunch. This is an awesome experience that you should check out as it's a full breakfast experience with stuff like Huevos Rancheros and Steak and Eggs. Do yourself a favor and do this at least once for your sea day breakfast. Our other breakfast option was blue iguana cantina. We did this during port days as it was a quick but filling meal. They had a lot of options with good flavors and if you were still hungry you could just walk into the lido buffet behind it.( I was full with the burrito so I never went into the lido for breakfast) Moving on for Lunch the bot iguana cantina offered burritos, tacos, and chips/salsa. I had no complaints as this was a regular go to during my lunch time hours. Guys burgers : the burgers were awesome when they were open. The service was quick and the topping bar was pretty awesome. I enjoyed there take on the fries. The deli: the deli had a lot of good options my only complaint was when it was crowded it was not a quick easy to fill up. Never had a bad meal here though. Guys BBQ: I was only fortunate enough to make it here once during the cruise but the good was really good. I definitely didn't expect this quality food while at Sea when it came to BBQ . Specialty options: Chefs table was an excellent experience. It started off with a tour of the entire kitchen. During this tour sooner if the chefs showed us how they made some of the dishes. They eventually took us to our own septate room for the meal. The courses were excellent. Unlike royal Caribbean chef table wetter they pair a wine with each course Carnival let us pick a wine to pair for the entire dinner. At the end we were given a photograph of the group and the employees who served us. It was a nice ending touch. Emerald steakhouse: I'll be honest I Wasn't initially intending on going to the Steakhouse during our cruise but we decided to try it out. The entire meal was excellent, I did the wagu steak with an add NB of the lobster tail. The appetizers prior were great the sides are ok with the main course. That being said this was one of the best meals I ever had at Sea or on land. Entertainment and activities: I had high hopes for the activities as a long time royal Caribbean cruiser. I felt like our cruise director fell flat to what I was used to. Some of the activities the previous cruise director had were missing (the qwest) and some Royal Caribbean regulars weren't there at all ( belly flop). That being said ... The love and marriage show, CLUE game, Hasbro Game Night and battle of the sexes were awesome. They had a ton of trivia opportunities and the night club was always a good time. I felt as if the cruise was missing that constant cruise director experience to make the activities feel like can't miss opportunities. Lip sync battle wasn't for me but I encourage you to try it. I highly recommend you check out the punchline comedy club and the piano bar which were lively every night and kept the entertainment going. My only negative with the night life was how early most of the bars closed. Many bars closed at midnight which for me is sometimes when the party was just really getting started. Ports of call: Cozumel Mexico : I have been to this port plenty so it was important to do an excursion to enjoy my time here. My group decided on a catamaran and all inclusive at passion island. The catamaran ride was relaxing and the island was awesome. Drinks and food included with sports and other activities. We enjoyed this excursion the most of the two. Yucatan Progreso: Yucatan is very much a developing tourism spot. The beach is Beautiful but you can tell they are trying to build amenities to make it more attractive toursim destination. We did the Corona Beach party. The drinks and the ride were included and for the price I definitely got my money's worth. The only downside was a lot of people pushing stuff to sell on you while trying to enjoy the beach. Lastly debarkation process: as I was staying in NoLa the next two days this process was harmless. I rolled my luggage off the boat and through customs within 15 minutes. Hardest part was saying goodbye to excellent vacation. I highly recommend this cruise and this itinerary for the price. My experience was so good I've already booked my next carnival Cruise Read Less

This is our fifth year cruising over Spring Break. Our kids are grown so it’s just us, but there are always lots of kids onboard over Spring Break. We park in the Fulton Place Garage and the construction on the Convention Center side caused us a nearly two hour delay in parking! Not sure how long the construction will be going on. Call first if you plan to park here. After finally parking and shuttling to the port, we were late. The good thing about being late is that you move right along. We never sat down. Through check-in, security, and up the ramp onto the ship. Then up the elevator to Deck 11 to our first-ever balcony. I sat down and thought it would be good to take a picture of us on the balcony. That’s when I realized I had left my backpack in the x-ray machine. I grabbed my passport and RAN. It was now after 3:00 and at 4:00 the ship pulls out. The people inside were very nice but also very professional. They asked me to identify it, then describe the contents. Once they were satisfied they directed me to a desk where I signed for it and ran back to the ship! Crisis averted! We sailed on the Dream in 2017 so we recognized a lot of the traffic patterns. We are early risers and head to the Serenity area on the Sky deck and secure chairs with pads on the sea days to sun and read. It’s quiet there. Our cabin was 11273. It was convenient but there was a slamming door somewhere and it would wake us up. It seemed to slam a lot at 3:00 a.m. I sleep with earplugs and one night the vibration of the wall woke me up. I probably should have complained, but I didn’t. The cabin was plenty spacious for two and the couch and sit-under were both nice features. We did not use the balcony much. I would do a balcony again for the sunlight but it wasn’t as much of an upgrade as I imagined. We ate in the dining room maybe four times. It was good. Service was good too. We had 6:00 early dining and next time we may opt for anytime dining. On elegant nights we skipped it and hit the Lido, which was good. One day we stayed ashore until 5:30 so we grabbed a burger and it was remarkably good. The shows were as we remembered. The 80’s show was SO GOOD. As was the Motown show. Skip Flick. We walked out. Many did. Gary the Cruise Director did a good job of keeping you informed but not annoying you. Service everywhere was excellent. Towel animals to the max! Especially on Friday morning. Ports were busy with Spring Break. Montego Bay – we grabbed a taxi (bus) to Doctor’s Cave Beach. Maybe $7 each. Once there it was $6 each to get in $6 each for a chair and $6 for an umbrella = $30. Make sure you take a lot of $1 bills to tip people. No one seems to have any change. We got there early and stayed as long as we could. Lunch right there was very good. Grand Cayman – I don’t remember tendering here but we did this time. There were plenty of water taxis and they moved quickly. We were planning to go to the public beach but the driver persuaded us to try Royal Palms. It was maybe $2 each to get in, but then it started. $15 for an umbrella. $12 each for chairs. And then all the food prices are in Cayman dollars, so add 25%. Lunch was $60 US. The beach was beautiful and water as clear as it gets but this was expensive compared to the free public beach with local guy renting chairs cheap and the liquor store across the road. Next time we will go there again. Finally Cozumel – we couldn’t get off the ship until 10:00. So by the time we taxied to Paradise Beach, it was pretty full. We did find chairs and it’s only $3 each so we LOVE it there. There were seven cruise ships in port and the lunch service was SLOW. But in the afternoon it thinned out and we moved around and enjoyed the pool and the beach. We will be back next year. What can you say? For less than the cost of a condo in Florida for the week, we wake up each day in a different country! I’ve already booked Carnival for Spring Break 2020. We’ve done Norwegian, Royal Caribbean and Carnival and shocked even ourselves that we like Carnival the best. It seems to be the best value. Read Less

I did love the serenity deck, but it also being the deck of camp ocean ( for kids) was a little confusing. Really enjoyed speciality meal and the steak house and of course, Guys burger. Main restaurant food was iffy . Cruise director was great and fun. Casino was good and never too crowded. Placed third in the slot tournament so that was fun. Our balcony room was fun and nice to have an outside area to sit and watch the ocean. So much to do and never enough time to do it. We loved our cabin steward. We had a great cruise , a great ship and all staff we encountered were very accommodating! Will definitely Sail again with carnival Read Less

I was able to take my in-laws that have lived their entire lives in Mexico and never had any type of vacation like this. I was so glad to be a part of it. Everything was great to them and it really showed me how much I took for granted and nit picked. I realized that someone remembering my name or not wasn't a big deal, whether I could sit in a deck chair, or whether the shows were exactly like broadway shows or not. So if you are reading this you won't see a review of everything nitpicked, you will read what a great time my family and I had and I will do my best to be objective at times to give the reader something to go on. Saying I loved the food doesn't mean the food was great, it means I found it great. You could read a review from someone on the same cruise as I was and they could say the food was terrible. So what you may want to keep in mind is what are YOU looking for in a cruise? Do you even like cruises? Do you like the thought of being with the same 3000 people or even more, for a week? Do you like the idea that you will wait for many things? I went on the March 17th cruise out of New Orleans on the Carnival Dream. What a big, beautiful ship I was on for a week. Of course with the newest cruise ships out there, the Dream isn't the biggest. But when you compare the Dream to the Carnival Fantasy it is quite large. The Fantasy was my first cruise in June of 1994. A lot has changed that's for sure. When they started the check in process the ship wasn't completely empty of passengers from the previous cruise but they had a lot of room to wait in the building once we were checked in. We got there about 9 30 in the morning and they started the check in at about 10 15. At about 11 15 they started letting the diamond, platinum, and suite passengers on. Oh before that they let on a wedding group. Then us FTTF folk got let on the ship. I would say we were on the ship by 11 30 but I didn't record times exactly. They said FTTF could go straight to their rooms and I did, but I was allowed to put up my carry on but they kindly asked me to come back a little later as they were still cleaning my room. This was about 11 45 and it didn't bother me and we just went walking around and checking the place out. While my family was still eating I went to the Crimson dining room at 12 30 to ask the maître d if I could switch to your time dining and that was granted. We had a deluxe ocean view room that accommodated 5 people and it was quite roomy. Let me say, it was plenty of space for the 5 of us, but this did include a 2 year old and two teenage girls, my wife and myself. We didn't really go in the room that much but honestly it never felt cramped and we always had a place to put things. Like many other Carnival ships, there was only one 3 prong outlet and people that weren't prepared for that were quite upset. I had two 10 foot extension cords and a power strip that wasn't surge protected. This allowed us all to plug in everything we wanted to. The room also had two bathing rooms. The one with the shower had the toilet, the other room was just a mini bath tub that you could bathe or shower in. I really liked this room. I don't remember the room steward's name but I found him to be pleasant and they cleaned the room very well each day. I didn't hang out much by the pool and none of us had the desire to lay out in the sun. Having said that, I do know that at least 5 people I had talked with said they hated that they could never get a deck chair and that people were reserving them very early in the morning and not using them until later. I believe this is a problem that Carnival tends to have on all of their cruises. I know they have a sign posted that said you can't keep a chair that you aren't using for more than 45 minutes but people said this rule wasn't followed nor enforced by the staff. No problem to me at all but I know there were definitely a few people that were upset by this. The pizza that is available 24 hours a day is all the way in the back of the ship by the aft pool on the lido deck which is deck 10. You can also order a personal pizza delivered to you wherever you are on the ship. I did that once for my older daughter and it was quite a large size and it was pretty fast delivery and it was 5 dollars to have it. On the other side of the back of the ship on the Lido is the seafood place where you can pay extra for and get some seafood. I never even looked at the menu or know of anyone that had eaten it. Then you have the buffets in the lido deck and then by the pool you have blue iguana café and guy's burgers. The line to both of these places were long almost all of the time. I say long because to me it was and I braved the burger line once and I waited about 20 minutes to get a burger. I didn't experience the blue iguana but my wife did and she enjoyed it and she waited about 20 minutes as well. You can check out many places online on what these places offer on their menu. My wife is the queen of eating hot stuff and that place had her in tears so they must have had some heavy duty salsa. I never did the steak house but we did the pasta bar a couple of times. I really enjoyed being able to order some pasta with a salad and bread. It is included in the cost, you just have to be aware that it's typically only available from 12 to 2 30 p.m. The dining room was pretty awesome. It was beautiful and had a ton of hardworking and very friendly staff. The food was always warm or hot and everyone in our group of 7 loved everything they tried. I didn't hear of any complaints about the food from anyone and I was in group of over 600 people on social media and I didn't see any of them complaint about the food. I know several people complained about their room staying hot but our room was always cool and quite comfortable. I never noticed an overwhelming smell but several had mentioned that they continued to smell a strong musty odor or sewage smell. Many had complained of becoming ill with a sore throat, sinus, head cold type issue. My wife and son were two of the people that had this and many on the group said they were ill. There were many different types of activities to choose from throughout the day. Many different trivia activities, the typical hairy chest contest, scavenger type games, to musical shows. We usually had to pick one out leave a second choice behind because there were so many options. Me and my family enjoyed the shows at night. All of those people involved put so much time in to those shows. Those men and women worked hard and it showed and I was so glad my family and I were able to enjoy those. This was the second time I had been on a carnival ship where they had the lip sync contest and I truly think it is awful. So I asked the group what they think of it and really many people said they quite enjoy it. So there you have it, people like things I don't. This cruise went to Jamaica and we went to a resort for the day and it was your typical resort. We ate, we drank, we swam, we returned back to the ship on time! I had a really good time with my family and enjoyed our time together. We went to Grand Cayman but then we quickly waved goodbye to Grand Cayman as the captain came on and said the swells were to big for the tenders to safely access the cruise ship. Nothing anyone can do about that but cruise on. We got to Cozumel 3 hours earlier because of skipping Grand Cayman. That was pretty cool to get there a little earlier. My family being all from Mexico really enjoyed the extra time. We went to a day resort there too and had a great time with great food and a lot of drinks served. We didn't over do it though and we just had a good time spending it together. For the crew that always works so long and so hard every single day, I didn't see it in their faces. Many of them would stop and talk to my 2 year old boy and they were always so friendly to us. I don't know they can appear to be so happy all the time with all those hours they put in. There's really a lot more to review but I have already written so much. But for this family that finds positives in almost anything, we had a wonderful cruise. It was so fun having all of us together to experience what a beautiful world we live in. So many things a person can find wrong about, but the world is how you choose to see it and live it. We chose to have an amazing cruise. Read Less

recently had a caribean cruise on carnival dream, which was absolutely excellent,so much so they we have already looked into booking our 2nd one!! we embarked at new orleans, which was very smooth,we had embarkment time of 12.30 -1.30..we were on the ship by 12.30!!so many good memories from start to finish..everyone is made to feel welcome, the ship is large, yet never felt crowded...lots of activities going on day and night..Gary the cruise director does an excellent job,as do all the staff on board.the ship looked beautiful, and was clean, food was hit and miss, seemed to be the same, each day in the buffet, and at best just warm.the main dining room(we were in scarlet)the food was a little more varied, though perhaps not as good standard,as other cruise ships i have been on..the waiting staff however were excellent and work tirelessly to ensure, evrything go well..they really do a great job.guys hamburger joint and pig and anchor, were excellent.most of the crew/staff we met we very courteous, happy and wanted us to enjoy every minute..we saw quite a few theatre shows..my favorite had to be the mr and mrs show, with audience participation..it was hillarious, and again Garry as well as participants were star of the show...deck parties were very good fun,as were dive in movies..the atrium on board is beautiful, and popular place to hang out ,have a drink and watch/join in entertainment the piano bar was good too..just loved, basically everything about the whole cruise, our room was port hole cabin, which was spacious enough for us 3 ladies...i would highly reccomend carnival dream cruise Read Less

We'd never been on a cruise and after watching a movie about a cruise (not Titanic) we decided to try. We were a bit apprehensive but decided to give it a try. We chose to go in early February as it was after Christmas break and before Spring break so we thought that we would miss a rush of kids. The cruise was mostly filled with retirees though there were a few families. Getting on and off of the ship in New Orleans was a bit of a hassle. They were loading over 3000 people as quickly as they could and overall it wasn't bad. We arrived before our boarding time and so went through the longer lines. It might have been better if we'd come at the assigned time. Our cabin was on deck 12 a Spa balcony room. Having driven to New Orleans from Illinois we had stayed in a couple of nice hotels on the way down. The cruise room was not up to those standards, but it had more space in the living room and bath than our motorhome so we were happy. The steward was very friendly and attentive and the room was always clean. We ordered room service most mornings the food was simple but good. The buffet for breakfast or lunch was always well stocked and the food was very good. Dinners in the formal dining room were always excellent. Our main server Soe was amazing. When the ship was at sea for the day a sit down breakfast was available in the aft dining room. It's hard to imagine getting tired of steak (filet minion) and eggs for breakfast, but it can become a thing. The food was great. There was entertainment throughout the ship: piano bar, comedy club, two lounges with singers. There were also shows in the larger area in the front of the ship. We stayed to the smaller venues. We went to Jamaica, Grand Caiman and Cozumel. Grand Cayman and Cozumel were great. The stop in Jamaica at Montego Bay was disappointing. We hadn't planned any excursions as none seemed interesting. The port itself was a line of a dozen or so shanty stores selling t shirts sun glasses and rum. We snorkeled in Cozumel and swam with dolphins and stingrays in Grand Cayman. Those very much fun and memorable. We enjoyed it enough that we scheduled another cruise with Carnival for next February. Read Less

We picked this cruise because it was over Superbowl weekend. We wanted to watch the big game form the big screen up on deck. We arrived at the port about 30 minutes after our arrival time since we received an email telling us not to arrive early and that boarding would be delayed due to loading of equipment and supplies. The guy managing the line made us rush past other and said you are late, we arrived at 155 pm and out boarding time was 130 pm, so what ever, then he got mad at us because I printed our documents on 1 page of paper back to back thinking I was being eco friendly, he said this will not work you need to each hold your own paper work, why? whats the difference? We have never had this problem before. We were onboard by 215 pm and ready to have fun. I had read lots of complaints about this ship as how bad of shape it was in. I did not see any issues, yes you could tell that it was due for an update, but nothing like others have posted recently. The Triumph is an easy to navigate ship, well laid out. Our Cabin was dated looking but it is going to be refurbed next month. Our bed was comfy and our cabin spacious with plenty of closet space. We had a great time on sea days, so many activities and some really good music in the evening. Getting on and off the ship in ports was so easy, never had to wait in a line. I Cozumel we just did our own thing, been there many times before. I Progresso we took the scenic photo and foodie tour to Merida. We really enjoyed this tour, the guides were wonderful and the tour of the city was very enjoyable and the food was great. We felt rushed on the tour due to time crunch, the time we spend in a local bakery was way too long, but the tour guides couldn't get the other people out of the bakery. The staff on the ship we excellent, professional and willing to talk to the guests. Kudos to the Bar staff they entertained my husbands bad jokes, ha ha. Really they were lots of fun. Disembarkation was smooth and very fast. I look forward to seeing the ship after it comes out of dry dock. We had a great time and will sail with Carnival again. Read Less

This was for my birthday, we had the best cruise ever. This was our 17th cruise. Great dining staff, wonderful food. The excursions were very fun. We had no been to these three ports before, Key West, Freeport and Nassau in the Bahamas. All of the crew were super nice. The cruise director Gary was very funny. Enjoyed his morning show every morning. The shows in the evening was great. The crew in the Fun Shops were very nice. The personal shoppers Vanya and Izzy were very informative and helpful in the shops in the ports of call. When it was time to get off the ship it was so easy and pretty fast. If you are thinking of taking a cruise, I would definitely encourage you to take a Carnival Cruise. You would won't be disappointed. Try a 5 day first then you'll do what my next cruise will be, a back to back cruise. Read Less

Dream Embarkation Wedding Review(Song Lounge and Burgundy Lounge) -I just have to go ahead and say our experience was incredible and completely exceeded my expectations! I did hair and makeup for myself and my bridesmaids at our hotel. We shuttled from our parking space. I definitely recommend giving yourself extra time. We were almost late to check in. This made meeting our coordinator and letting our guests know where to go pretty hectic. Jill was our coordinator, and she was fabulous. She made sure someone brought me lunch to my room. They didn't have our first dance song, but she made it happen. She took care of setting up our decorations in the ceremony and reception spaces. She also made sure everyone signed our guest book. Valeria was our wedding host. She made sure I was never empty handed. She checked in on us throughout the week and made our steakhouse reservations. For hors d'oeuvres we had: shrimp sushi, tomato mozzarella, steak burritos, chicken empanadas, beer battered fish, and smoked salmon. For drinks we had rum punch and margaritas. Our cake was coconut with coconut filling, The food was plentiful and delicious. The drinks were strong and they kept them coming. So strong that half our guests didn't make it the dining room that night! The reception itself was great. We did the first dance, mother/son and father/daughter dance, and cake cutting. The rest was party time. The dj had us dancing the entire time. The reception was only an hour long but I don't think our guests could have handled any longer. Kadek was our photographer and he made the wedding for me! I was so worried about pictures and I had no reason to be. The ceremony was in the Song Lounge and we had the curtains open for natural light. He took us all around the ship for pictures. We took so long that I had to go to Muster Call in my wedding dress. Overall, I'd recommend Carnival for a wedding a million times over. Read Less

We had a great week on the carnival Dream. There was always something for everyone to do. The boat was very clean and staff were always smiling. Our server at dinner, Walter, was outstanding. Always had a great attitude and was the hardest worker I saw all week. He went out of his way to make our dinners great. We will miss his smiling face. There’s plenty for children to do as well as adults. My only complaint would have to be the quality of dinner some nights. I felt the meals were very hit or miss. Most fish was overcooked and a lot of the food was very bland. I’ve only cruised twice previously and it was on royal Caribbean and I have to say that their food in the dining room is better. I will say you can’t beat carnival’s chocolate melting cake though. Also, I can not recommend Guy’s Burger Bar enough. Absolutely delicious. The quick pizza was pretty good as well. Overall I recommend this cruise to any family. It was a great experience. Read Less

The Dream is a very beautiful ship and is still in great shape. It was decorated for the holidays, which made it even more beautiful. The steakhouse was absolutely delicious and we enjoyed the food on the ship overall. We loved the spa so much! It was truly relaxing, the Thalassotherpy pool especially. The shows were great, and we enjoyed most of the onboard entertainment, especially Romaine on the steel drums and the DJs on the ship. We absolutely loved our spa balcony room and our room steward. If we get on the Dream again, we want to stay in the same room lol. We didn’t book any excursions thru Carnival, which was great for us bc we saved money and had an amazing time at each of the ports we stopped at. The cruise atmosphere was definitely fun, but not overwhelming. The Carnival Dream was truly a dream trip come true! Read Less

Chose this cruise for the date and departure port. Nola was amazing and plan to return there soon. The Dream is a large ship that offers an incredible amount of activities and space to roam. We had a balcony cabin on deck 8 mid ships, the only noise we heard was the family next door playing with there kids , not a big deal. The room was cleaned once a day and they did a great job. Had to ask 3 times for ice in the ice bucket but finally got it every day after the 3rd day. Food was great! Only dined 3 nights in MDR, the first night, the second elegant night and the last night. All 3 nights were great! Had dinner in the stake house and it was great, ordered the art on the table for dessert and it was incredible! Had dinner at bonsai sushi bar, very good. Lunch onboard ever day is great, chose a guy's burger, a blue iguana taco or barito, guys pig and anchor bbq, pasta at the pasta bar, a sandwich from the deli and don't forget the Mongolian wok! I never ate at the buffet, to much other stuff! Breakfast every day in MDR was great, freshly made eggs benadict, stake and eggs, so much more that was not setting in a warming dish on the buffet for an hour. The ship was decked out Christmas ( for those who are offended by the reason for the season, carnival calls it the holidays), it was done nicely not gaudy like some places get. The pools and hot tubs were great and the aft ones were never crowded but the main one midships seamed very busy on at sea days. Went ziplining in roatan, it was fun. Stayed onboard in Belize, enjoyed the water slides and main pool. In cozumel we went to Mr. Sanchos an all inclusive beach club. I made the reservation 2 months before the cruise for a 5 dollar deposit per person. On arrival paid another 45 dollars pp. So for a total of 50 $ pp, we spent the whole day, 8:30am till 4pm eating and drinking, swimming in the sea and lounging in the pools, great time, great service, highly recommended! Disembarkment was well organized and would go smoothly if ignorant people did not cruise. Just follow the directions! Cruise was great and will definitely go again. PS. The Flicks show was the best show I have ever seen on a cruise! Read Less

I’m very familiar with the departure city, as I’m a former resident of New Orleans. I have no comment about parking because we parked at my best friend’s house and used lyft for $12/per person. Not bad. We had Faster to the Fun and my friends had a suite, so priority embarkation was available for both parties that arrived at 11:35am. Easy peasy. We met the rest of our party while we were stuffing our faces on the lido. Our cabin was a balcony, 10258. If possible, we try to always book on the lido - we truly love being that close to most of the fun. This was a Birthday cruise for my husband, 8 people total. No kids in our party. We had a blast. On 11/27, we dined at the steakhouse. A couple of people in my party did not enjoy their dinner. I didn’t hear much of their gripes because I was highly satisfied!! Our MDR staff weren’t the best, but I didn’t mind too much (Scarlett dining room, late dining). The wait staff for sea day brunch was phenomenal. We kept getting Soosak (I think that’s the spelling) and he and his partner were just great! My husband was peturbed about the lip sync battle contest, as when we arrived at the start time to enter the contest, but they had already chosen the contestants. If it starts at 1pm, then why at 12:59pm have you already chosen your folks? Read Less

I had an amazing Vacation this time of the year was perfect the weather was just right and not humid or too hot. The service was outstanding. The Only reason I am not giving 5's for everything is my shore excursion in Cozumel was not the best. I was kinda disappointed as I didn't realize how long it was going to take to get to the destination and we ended up only having three hours instead of 6 hours at the location plus it was so packed as their were 6 ships in Cozumel when we were their. My cabin 2346 was wonderful. Very close to the water and when on the balcony we were able to watch the Pilot boat captain jump on and off the ship to Pilot the ship into the harbors and Mississippi river (Takes 7 hours to get through the river to the Gulf of Mexico). Also were able to see 10 dolphins and 1 whale from our room. Weather was around 85'F every day. Sunny and water was great. Jamaica was my favorite place to visit. Would defiantly recommend doing a snorkeling tour when here we saw so many tropical colored fish in the bay. Next time I go to Cayman Islands I am going to do Stingray bay and snorkeling tour as the water was crystal clear the further out you got. Read Less

I realized at the last minute my college aged daughter and high school aged daughter had time off school at the same time. I picked this cruise because the port is drive able, last minute airfare was cost prohibitive. We got there at 11:30a and walked right on, with our own bags. We are Platinum and waltzed right in after checking in. The Dream is not the newest ship but I love the classic look. I was very nervous at the safety drill hearing the adult:kid ratio for this sailing. Carnival security was stepped up and present everywhere did an amazing job keeping things in check, firm but kind. Several announcements were made reminding parents to be parents. We had the best waiter during your time dining, Sabbi. We looked forward to seeing him every night. We booked steakhouse reservations for Thanksgiving, and had an outstanding meal. We ate twice at sushi, amazing. We also booked the Dreams portrait studio, and they took pictures on board and on deck. Our pictures turned out amazing. I spent $500 for a metal 20x30 and for 15 fully edited digital prints. Very pricey, but priceless all at the same time. We were tanned, relaxed and genuinely happy and it showed in our session. We all crammed into a balcony room, and with a little coordination, it was just fine. We enjoyed our shoe trips for the most part. I will review these separately. Read Less

I did not receive an invite and had no idea what time or where the meet and mingle was so that was a little disappointing but overall I had a blast. There was a smell throughout the hallways a sweage smell it was bad at times but the crew made up for it. The director was good too I just never really seen him much. Our favorite places to eat during the day were the cantina and guys burgers. Our favorite entertainment was the comedy shows. The pool area was just right and there were many designated places for those whom smoke. We loved bingo and the casino. My favorite game was the money crane, even though I never won it.
